Very clean and great location

We stayed at Avalon for 3 nights and what a wonderful place. It was very clean and beds very comfortable, hosts were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing and so much choice. Location was perfect for us as very close to city centre. Would highly recommend .

Booked one room but tried to give cheaper

Our travel company booked us a double room months before our trip and sent us pictures of the room with the confirmation. Upon arrival it wasn't a double and Val claimed they had only booked that week. Our guide let the home office know of the situation and our travel company moved us to a wonderful apartment. I had read reviews about how unprofessional the owners. I agree that they're in wrong business. I have no tolerance for liars and if you want to see their true personality read the rebuttals to negative reviews. The few times I've ever had to leave a negative review, I've received an apology and commitment to improve. Here you'll find the problem is always the guests fault.

Firstly can we just say that the room the booking agent booked is the room you were given and there were no notes on the booking to say you required a ground floor room, we have two deluxe king size rooms and you had one one of them you were given a much bigger room than a double secondly we contacted the booking agent and asked them to move you as you made it perfectly clear that you were not happy being upstairs, calling us liars is certainly not acceptable and extremely rude, if we had done something wrong we would admit it but on this occasion your grievance should be with your travel company not us as we didn’t book the room your agent did and you got exactly what you paid for as I also have a copy of your booking which shows the room booked.

We highly recommend this guest house!!

What a great experience. We stayed here for two nights and found it a very lovely, super clean, charming and comfy place to stay. The hosts are very nice and helpful and made our stay great, including a great breakfast!! Big recommendation!!

Wonderful B&B

My husband and I stayed for a few nights while traveling around Scotland and would highly recommend Avalon Guest House. The house is cozy, comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. It's not a bad walk into to town for the restaurants and walk along the river. We had car trouble and were forced to have a slower day and as a bonus, walked around the botanical gardens, which are close by, and crossed the footbridge over to Ness Islands. Our hosts cook a wonderful breakfast and made us feel at home.

A real gem!

Spent a night here prior to starting our NC500 adventure. The owners - Val and Paul - are very friendly and accommodating, and the place itself is immaculate!
Our room was delightful and comfortable, with lots of really thoughtful touches. The bed was extremely cosy, and the shower was excellent.
Also, I do have to give a shout out to the amazing breakfasts - the menu is really good and the cooked options are plentiful and hot.
A real gem!
