Comfortable stay with polite staff, but Room 4 is far too noisy and evening food availability needs improving.
Starting with the positives, the staff were excellent throughout my stay. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful – they are a real credit to the hotel.
The room itself was comfortable, the bed was good, the shower was excellent, and having a small fridge in the room was a real bonus during the warm weather, allowing me to keep drinks cold. The hotel also provided a small fan, which was appreciated, although unfortunately it simply circulated the already very warm air around the room rather than cooling it.
I only had breakfast once during my stay, but it was excellent. If the same chef prepares the evening meals, I’m sure the food would have been equally as good.
Unfortunately, I was allocated Room 4, which is directly above the bar and overlooks the main road into Llanelli. Whilst the room itself was comfortable, its location made it very difficult to get any quality sleep.
The room is adjacent to a pedestrian crossing, and the constant “beep, beep” from the crossing signals continued throughout the day and well into the night. It became so intrusive that I actually went out and bought foam earplugs just to try and block out the noise.
Being directly above the bar and kitchen area also meant there was a constant banging noise, which sounded like a heavy door repeatedly opening and closing. Whether it was from the kitchen or bar, it seemed to continue from early morning until late into the evening, adding to the already high noise levels from outside.
The biggest disappointment was the evening food and bar service. On our first evening, the bar was closed, meaning there was no food available. On the second evening, the bar closed early, so once again there was no opportunity to eat at the hotel. By the third night, we’d given up and found somewhere locally instead.
From a business perspective, this feels like a missed opportunity. Many guests staying for work arrive after a long day expecting to be able to enjoy an evening meal and a drink without having to head back out. Closing the bar or ending food service early not only inconveniences guests but also means the hotel is losing valuable revenue.
Overall, the hotel has plenty of positives. The staff are genuinely excellent, the rooms are comfortable, the shower was great, the fridge was a welcome addition during the hot weather, and the breakfast I had was superb.
Would I stay again? Yes. The location is ideal for work, and the staff really do make the stay enjoyable. However, I would definitely request a room on the opposite side of the hotel, away from the main road, pedestrian crossing and bar, as I believe that would make for a much quieter and more relaxing stay. With more consistent evening food service and a quieter room allocation, this would be an easy 4–5 star stay.

Outstanding Sunday lunch
For Sunday dinner
The carvery was 10/10 absolutely delicious that stuff ….. the best I’ve had out on a Sunday dinner,
The beef fell apart in my mouth.
The vegetables just how I like them with a little bit of a bite. Not soggy or watery just perfect
The parsnips (gutted I didn’t put more of them on my plate)
Honestly can’t fault it and staff very helpful and definitely serving us with a smile.
Well done all and congratulations on an outstanding meal
We will be back!

It’s a “meh” experience
Let’s start with the hotel itself: located in a very good area close to many shops, barber, tattoo shops, close to Selwyn Samuel Centre and manageable walk or short drive from the beach too. It has a limited car park in the back, close to the reception.
Seems like the bar and the reception was refurbished to some extent.
The hotel has function room, and the buffet type of restaurant, and plenty space to sit inside or outside in the bar garden. Sadly, it’s a place where people come drinking excessively, so until the bar opening hours it was very noisy, and seemingly the bar staff didn’t do much about it, or maybe they are not trained well how to diffuse noisy people.
My room was number 4, which has no air conditioning or any fan coolers to tackle with the immense heat in the summer, therefore, my comfort was impacted by this. The windows cannot be open much, so not even a cross-wind attempt helped to sleep well on this occasion.
The room seemed like refurbished though! The furnitures and material used in the room has a very nice and calming feeling, yet, modern and stylish.
The fridge was filled with a pre-filled cool water. I wasn’t able to use the TV, the remote controller seems like broken or not working properly.
The room is equipped with a water kettle and Nespresso machine, with different type of sugars and sweeteners, selection of tea and coffee.
The bathroom is small, but very clean and practical, and the towels were clean, and soft too.
On the other hand: as you walk to the rooms you can sense that it is under refurbishing or maybe an under-managed staff, because the carpet or rug on the floor is incredibly dirty, even the vacuum cleaner was left there. Some decorations, or door steps also show that some works are underway. Not sure if that side of the building is in use or not where the rug is uneven but be careful, the rug at places isn’t even, a really serious trip hazard.
When I came to the reception to check out, it took a total of 13 minutes to talk to someone. I rang the bell multiple times, once the young gentleman who checked me in originally walked by told me he is getting his colleague to help me.
I paid 85 for a single night here, no breakfast, no room entertainmens, no air conditioner or fan cooler, while my friends stayed in a different hotel close by at a much better price and amenities, so I don’t think I will return here.
