Excellent stay

Brilliant guest house right in the heart of LLangollen. Our charming room had a separate sitting area with the bathroom in the middle separating a nice sized bedroom. The bedroom also had a great bath right in front of the window. Check in and out was easy and the place was spotlessly clean.

Not Manorhaus Boutique standard.

2 stars for parking/location and clean sheets.
I'm contacting owner directly because we can only assume they forgot we were coming and The Cottage is in need of serious TLC. We had a fun weekend nonetheless, beautiful weather but sadly the outdoor area, was the biggest disappointment.

Great place for exploring

We stayed in cottage one.
Check in was contactless which was great. The door was open along with the parking permit for the nearby carpark. We were sent directions before our arrival.
The cottage was nice and cosy and in a great location for exploring llangollen. A short walk to everything, which was great.
We met the manager who was lovely, she gave us some tips on where to find a nice bar with some live music.
The bed was nice and comfy.
There were a couple of issues for us:
- it wasn't that clean. There were hairs on the tiles and walls in the bathroom. Only a couple.
- there was a used ear bud on the stairs
- the cooking utensils were used and broke during use. There was a baking tray with used foil still in the oven.
- there was a lack of plugs in the bedroom (the dressing table was a lovely addition but had to go to the other side of the room for a plug
- the position of the sink was so odd, had to lean over the counter to wash anything.
- the curtains (I'm being picky here) looked a little old, some nice bright curtains may well show the place off more. They were great at blocking out light though.
We would definitely come back but stay in a room only as we ended up not really using the kitchen much.

Super stay

Just had a lovely family break at the lodge, booked three rooms for a long weekend break with the family. All enquires we had prior to our visit were replied to promptly and comunication on checking in was exemplary.
On arrival we were greeted by the friendly Ellese, the hotel manager, who throughout our stay went over and above to accommodate our wishes and made us feel very welcome.
The rooms were very spacious, spotlessly clean and decorated to a good standard. The beds were large with lovely bedding and very comfortable. The touch of complementary ground coffee with a cafetiere plus good quality tea with a teapot was much appreciated. My son and partner's room was adorned with unique period features and a beautiful bay window.
This was a great location for our visit, ideally placed to explore Llangollen within walking distance to the town centre. We were given free parking too.
My only niggles are the carpets throughout the lodge
need replacing as a bit thread bare and a tad smelly in our room, the sofa and chairs need to be reupholstered as they look a bit tired. The front of the building could look so impressive with a good lick of paint and the courtyard could do with sprucing up to look a bit more welcoming. Non of which ruined our stay as we know times have been hard for the hospitality sector these last few years and upgrading can be costly.
We will definitely return in the future.

Great place to stay with dog

Had a lovely 2 night stay here . Rooms are nice and clean. Easy access and parking next door. Ideal for all shops, restaurants and pubs and picturesque walks. Will be back! Went next door for a curry and was excellent!
