Avoid at all costs. Crack den!
Our recent experience at this hotel in London was an absolute NIGHTMARE, and I feel I have to warn other travelers, especially families.!!!!
We had booked accommodation for our family (5), expecting enough beds, but when we arrived we discovered a shocking lack of beds and pillows.
The hotel staff's proposed solution was not only unhelpful but incredibly dangerous: they suggested placing a bed directly in front of the only exit door in the room. This is a colossal fire hazard and frankly, an utterly irresponsible suggestion that put our safety at risk.
To make matters worse, the male staff member we dealt with was incredibly rude and unhelpful, showing no empathy or willingness to resolve the situation appropriately. As for the "hotel" itself, it was absolutely filthy. The conditions were unsanitary and completely unsuitable for anyone, let alone a family. CRACK DEN comes to mind !
The hotel have refused to communicate with booking.com regarding a refund as we had to find alternative accommodation. The pictures are not the "hotel".
I have video evidence of the room and the conversation I had with the staff regarding the above.
This is absolutely not a place for a family and I would urge anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and potential safety risks.

Genuinely the strangest hotel I’ve ever stayed in
Pros: Cheap
Cons: everything you could possibly imagine
Not even sure where to begin… Genuinely the strangest hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
We arrived a little bit early from the check in time on the email, so thought we’d try our luck at an early check in, to be greeted by the most uninviting entrance to a hotel I’ve ever seen. We genuinely thought we were at the wrong place. After walking around the building a few times we came back to where we were to find the front door, that was previously locked, to be open so we walked in and there was no front desk, no reception and no staff to be seen anywhere. We rang the number listed on their website and spoke to a man with the worst customer service skills I’ve ever seen. He answered the phone with a ‘hello’… no ‘hello this is the equitable hotel how can I help you?’. I had to ask if this was the hotel and he just replied ‘yes’. Like speaking to a brick wall, please learn how to speak to people if you’re going to answer the phone. Anyway he explained to us that check in was at 3pm only and we would be sent email instructions on how to check in.
After this interaction & the super shady entrance that smelled like an old museum we instantly started looking for different hotels to book for the weekend but the insane cancellation fee made us see it through. After we got sent our check in email, which was 3 different codes to enter on 4 different doors. No keys or keycards at all which made us feel quite uneasy as I doubt these codes are changed often.
Once you’re through the first 2 coded doors you’re met with probably the scariest lift we’ve ever been in, which by the way you have no option but to take as the only other option is 5 extremely repetitive floors of stairs, which we genuinely thought we were stuck in an ever evolving loop as every floor was identical, with no indication at all of which floor you were on.
When we made it through 2 more coded doors and finally into our room we were actually decently surprised, the room was spacious with a large window that actually opened, however that was pretty much the extent of the pros of this room.
The little mini entrance to the room between the first and second door stunk of cigarettes, not sure if this is the non existent staffs secret smoking area or what but the smell didn’t carry into the room at least. The room was clean in all of the surfaces and touch points however you notice pretty quickly the rest of the room was quite grim. The bed wasn’t terrible, however it is a small double not a full size, which is strange given the size of the room, which is decent for a solo traveller but a tight squeeze for a couple. And if you’re thinking of staying here with more than 2 people don’t even bother. The concrete bench outside that we sat on waiting for the check in time was actually more comfortable than this torture device of a sofa bed. You will genuinely be more comfortable joining the junkies outside sleeping on their cardboard mats than sleeping on this sofa bed. Not to mention the pillows on both the main bed and sofa bed closely resemble the comfort of a punching bag that’s been marinating in someone’s garage for the past 25 years.
Moving onto the bathroom, which is worth mentioning you have to go up 2 steps to get into, so if you have limited mobility you’re buggered. The toilet and sink weren’t bad and seemed pretty clean, however the shower had a thick layer of mould and limescale in every crevice which was extremely off putting. The hot water in this place just comes and goes as it wants too. Every time you get a shower you have to point the temperature dial in a random place to see any sort of heat. You can literally have the dial set to the hottest temperature, the shower will be freezing and you turn it to the coldest setting and the hot water will come out. Whoever installed this shower was obviously playing an elaborate prank.
Another thing worth noting, not that we’d have used it but the bath had a large sheet of plywood over the top of it which they had tried to disguise as a large shelving unit with a fake plant on. Just simply bizarre.
The whole time we were here we only saw 1 member of staff who was sat at a desk through an open door, which was closed as we arrived, but weirdly enough this was at about 1am as we were coming back from a concert. We were greeted by a distant stare as apposed to a smile or a hello. Probably the same bloke who answered the phone on day 1 who wouldn’t know what a normal human interaction is. Why would there be staff kicking about at this time but no one to be seen anywhere during check in or check out times? Luckily we saw other guests every now and then which helped make the whole situation feel a bit more normal.
The surrounding area is pretty rough too. Leaving the Woolwich station off the Elizabeth Line our first impressions were actually okay. The area seemed pretty nice with plenty of shops & places to eat, however you realise pretty soon that it’s rough. Plenty of junkies hanging about asking for money & some pretty scary looking individuals who could smell fresh meat walking around.
The room actually had some benefits that you don’t see with other hotels, however they all came with drawbacks funnily enough. There was ironing facilities which I was super happy about, nothing worse than trying to get hold of an iron while travelling. However every so often, and every time you pressed the steam button the iron would fart out a bunch of limescale and leave white dust all over the place. The room had a fridge, however weirdly it was in the closet leaving pretty much no room for clothes. The iPad sized TV turned on which was a positive, however the grime covered remote only had about 3 working buttons so you were forced to watch Dickinson’s real deal unless you had the hand strength to apply hydraulic press force to each button.
I suppose you get what you pay for, I’ve spent more for 1 night in a hotel than 3 cost us here but safe to say we won’t be returning.

Disgusting. Gave my partner swollen ear infection!
Me and my boyfriend stayed here from the 7th- 9th, and this was the most horrific experience we have ever had staying somewhere. The amount of problems we had to deal with that weekend was completely unacceptable.
To name a FEW of the things we had to deal with:
- Our room looking nothing like the room we booked and paid for. After explaining this for so long to the stubborn man at reception we finally managed to switch rooms. Slightly better but still not worth what we paid for and not what we saw online before we booked. Very misleading
- The shower water pressure was very weak, not once did I feel clean after showering there. The temperature also kept going from boiling hot or freezing cold. Terrible shower.
- Only 1 towel for 1 guest, no bath mat, face or hand towels- made it very difficult to stay here.
- Turned on the iron on the first use the iron left a black mark on my partners very expensive shirt which is now ruined!
- Hairdryer stopped working after about 5 minutes it turned off.
- The TV had no signal and after one of the workers “fixed” it, it was on but was buffering, pausing and delayed- making it impossible to watch anything the whole weekend.
-The shared balcony meant we couldn’t sleep with the windows open as it was a full window, out of fear of people in the next room could get in.
-Extremely thin walls meant I could hear so many noises and bangs throughout the stay making me feel very unsafe.
-The main thing is now my boyfriend is suffering from a painful and uncomfortable swollen ear, and skin on his face and body is all itching, sore and uncomfortable! We have stayed at many places and this has never happened before. He has never dealt with this before and it’s absolutely disgusting to think what this hotel must neglect in order for this to happen. He was perfectly fine on arriving, Saturday it began and waking up Sunday it was even worse. He is still having to deal with this and has to go to see a specialist and I will take this further with yourselves if it is something serious!
First a FULL refund is the least we deserve after dealing with all your crappy amenities,- if we knew what the room ACTUALLY included and looked like we would've looked straight past, because that is not worth the price, no one could pay me to stay at this horrid place again! Second a FULL refund is the least we deserve after my partner is NOW ON MEDICATION, HAS TO SEE A SPECIALIST, AND IS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE! Sort this out!

Rude receptionist Bobbie, dirty rooms, dirty beds. Shutdown immediately.
Poor service, dirty rooms, dusty, coffee stains, fresh blood on the bedding.
Receptionist was not helpful, approachable or understanding. When the bedding was removed, the cleaner places all bedding on the dusty floors, removed the matress topper, then decided to place the old sheet back on with the side touching the blood.
This should not be the 1st thought of a cleaner. Raised poor hygiene concerns. We had to change hotels in the end.
If the cleaner is cleaning in that type of way, there is no way you can rely on the other rooms and was advised to call booking .com to offer a full refund amd continued to call soemone during mid coversation.
We then ask booking.com for the refund, but they advised the receptionist bobbie should have actioned this when we were already shooed away. Poor communication again from this receptionist. We are still seeking a full refund as we had to bok another hotel which was much cleaner than this state.

Don't go there
The hotel stank of smoke, I booked a family room but was told I needed tto pay an extra £40 for a sofa bed.
Unsavoury area, bath was fixed with wood and nails, shower filthy.
Receptionist said it wasn't her problem, there was marijuana smells wafting in and comings and goings till 5am
