Nice pub with a comfortable room.

We booked to stay here for a night when attending a wedding nearby.
The room was ok. It is looking a little tired, (especially the desk,) but the bed was comfortable. the bathroom was clean, the towels & dressing gowns were good, & the air conditioning worked well. (We slept well on what was the hottest night on record, which was good.)
Nice tea & coffee selection, a single packet of biscuits, & a small bottle of fresh milk in the smallest fridge I've ever seen in a hotel were appreciated.(The Sainsbury's across the road proved helpful for more fresh milk.)
The safe is under the table stand.
Unfortunately we didn't get it at a good price, which is why it's 4* not 5*, because of the value for money element.
The staff were friendly, & the breakfast was very good, with a very reasonable variety on offer to suit most people's needs. The cooked breakfast is cooked fresh to order, which was very good..
We stayed in the room named Young, which is the first room through the doors on the first floor. Unfortunately that meant that when some guests arrived back late at night, talking loudly & leaving the door to bang while closing, we were disturbed. (Please be considerate if you stay here.)
There was a nice postcard of a drawing of the hotel on the mantle piece which we thought was a nice touch. Unfortunately a previous guest had used it as a coaster for their brew.
All in all a nice place, with a great breakfast & nice, helpful staff.
If you get it at a good price, & people don't leave the door to bang at night, you could have a very nice stay.

Excellent Stay

Just got back from a UK trip and the Half Moon was our first but favorite place we stayed. Our room was large and absolutely beautiful. It was so nice to come back to after a long day in the city. The breakfast every morning exceeded our expectations - cooked to order with lots of options, and very fresh. We decided to watch the match in the pub downstairs and the staff were kind enough to secure us a table on a busy night. Great vibes, food and drink. Would definitely stay here again!

A little gem! So lovely to have a drinks voucher on arrival and the breakfast the next morning was great, lots to choose from. The room was perfect. The only slight issue was the noise of the traffic as close to a junction but otherwise peaceful in the hotel!

Great pub with rooms. The room we stayed in was fantastic, all of the staff were amazing. Great location. The only negative was that there were no sockets near the bed for phone charging.
