Fabulous weekend away!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel!
Our room was a superior double with a balcony and river view.. it was very clean and comfortable for our stay!
The staff were friendly, very welcoming and helpful.
We ate there both evenings the food was delicious as was breakfast!
Would highly recommend this hotel…. Very good location too.

Nice Hotel shame about mattress

Lovely Hotel overall, smashing food, no complaints there, situated superbly in Looe, with walks around the harbour. Reception and waitress and waiters fabulous, a couple of chaps singing on Saturday eve, I joined in with them, nice Social club next door, played darts and watched Arsenal play in the FA Cup, we had trips out to Polperro and the Eden project which were really lovely, I even had a go on the zip wire, which i would recommend. It was my birthday whilst away and the hotel went to great efforts with a card and some balloons and extra pudding at the eve meal. I had a small solo bedroom but terrible mattress, big dip in middle, i left a note for the housekeeping team, hopefully they will sort before next person uses it. Had a lovely time.

Fancy a carvery for Sunday lunch!!!

You know when you fancy a carvery. Well today Porthbyan was our choice destination. Staff were lovely, service was great, food was totally delicious and plentiful and hot. I would highly recommend it and it’s not overpriced.

Disappointing Experience

Good position but restaurant very cramped and noisy. No table cloths a bit like a works canteen. Food good quality but vegetables in short supply. One night it took 2hrs to serve our evening meal. Smallest bathroom of any hotel I have stayed at. Paid £140 supplement for 4 nights single room. Sink nursery's size had to leave bathroom door open or you hit your arms on it while washing. Had to feel kettle with cups of water as it did not fit in sink. Tiny shower with water temperature that was constantly changing. Toilet seat did not fit the toilet. Would not recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed our stay

Brilliant location with room balcony facing the harbour which was across the road. We were part of a coach party but still felt staff treated us as individuals. Our room was on 1st floor, it was spacious and quiet with no traffic noise. The meals were excellent quality, not a huge menu but always options we liked. The reception staff were extremely helpful and kind especially when we needed to unexpectantly cut short our holiday. We would definitely consider staying again if we were in the area,
