South Lodge is a magnificent Victorian country house in Horsham, West Sussex with an elevated position and 93 acres of gardens and parkland overlooking the South Downs. It has opulent, yet subtle and relaxed surroundings.

Amazing staff
I stayed at South Lodge in a family room for two nights. The room was a lot bigger than anticipated with a fantastic shower with lots of nozzles and a bath with a tv. There were lots of thoughtful things in the room on arrival and so easy to order extra milk etc...on the tablet in the room.
The staff really made us feel welcome from start to finish. In particular the staff in the spa were so warm and helpful and those in the Camellia restaurant.
The spa itself is very good. Very clean and the highlights were the sauna with a view and natural lake. I have stayed at a few spas and found that the offering here did not stand out as innovative. There was nothing exceptional or surprising but what is here is very good. Great changing rooms, fantastic gym. The grounds are also lovely and definitely worth exploring. We ate in Botanica and the lounge. Both were great. Breakfast in the Camellia was wonderful both days. I loved the yoghurt granola fruit pots at breakfast. I would have liked more nutrition focused meals overall rather than fine dining but this is a personal preference. I would recommend going during the week as it was noticeably busier on Friday. Overall, it was wonderful and we both got home feeling revitalised.

Excellent presentation and a personalised welcome
On arrival the grounds were beautifully presented and the hotel entrance was exceptionally clean. This continued throughout the hotel and is a credit to Tricia and her team. The room was beautifully presented and welcoming. The chocolates and welcome card were a nice touch as we were celebrating milestone birthdays. The food was of the highest standard and the bar was efficiently run by Sylwek. He was very welcoming and attentive. After our evening meal we were presented with individual birthday cakes by Gracie, This was a lovely touch and another example of the staff making our visit personal. A lovely hotel which I would highly recommend.

Amazing stay!
First time here and we were wowed.
Firstly we broke down on Sunday and they were very kind enough to move our booking to the following day which was greatly appreciated.
We stayed 2 nights BB.
It is a very beautiful hotel, very well kept, traditional, charming, and very cosy.
Great ambience, staff worked very hard and nothing was any trouble in making sure our stay was perfect. They all went out of their way to make our stay the best.
The rooms were large and spacious, beds very comfy. Fresh clean sheets.
Food equally amazing, fresh from their gardens. The spa was one of the best I've seen, comfy sofas in the changing rooms, cleaners working hard to make sure its always spotless and has amazing indoor pool and outdoor hot tub and a fresh water pool outside. Very scenic and a great place to have a 2 night break. We will return and huge thank you to all the staff who made our stay even more special. Darcie and Lara who took the booking just brilliant. Reception staff and restaurant equally the best. Spa restaurant was also amazing and excellent service form all the girls there.

Blown away by South Lodge..
Midweek break at South Lodge and was completely blown away.
Reception area is very attractive and many lovely lounges to relax in, all beautifully decorated.
Stayed in family suite, very spacious, lovely comfy beds, great bathroom and blissfully quiet.
Ate at Botanica lunchtime which was lovely, very good service, perfectly chilled wine and good menu.
It was a shame we couldn't eat on terrace, which seemed very underused, given lovely weather.
Had bar meal in the evening, and enjoyed spectacular views from bar terrace. Staff were amazing, so friendly and efficient.
The setting, grounds and garden are breath taking.
Good breakfast in restaurant, again faultless service.
Hard to find any negatives, but jacuzzi was completely monopolised all afternoon by a large group so really was no go.
Reception area is very attractive and many lovely lounges to relax in, all beautifully decorated.
