Perfect stay

Perfect stay..great room and perfect shower. The bar is so friendly, very family (and dog) focused. It fits in with the vibe of the village.... watching people coming from all corners to meet up in the square for 'the bells' was a reminder of how Scots used to celebrate New Year.

Tired and not good value

We have had 3 stays at this Hotel over the last 3 years, although the rooms are very basic, this was made up for by the friendly reception and excellent breakfast included at the local Golf Club. This year the room rate had gone up £15 to £90 and we were told it no longer included breakfast. This information was not communicated prior to our visit. The whole place now looking very tired, kitchen now closed on a Tuesday and Wednesday, and the website is years out of date. We heard that the owner had lost interest and was trying to sell the pub that also ran out of 2 beers during our stay.
We will not go again.

Unique gem hotel

Cozy Hotel, with a warm and homely feel. Welcoming hosts. Ask for the master of the house, named Larry. Food is delicious and best haggis. Family friendly. Enjoyed our stay very much. Enjoyed the band that played. Rooms are neat and clean. Will not forget this unique hotel.

Definately somewhere to return to.

We stayed here at the start of March '24 as a stop off for a longer journey north. Really glad we picked this place. Great, relaxed atmosphere, comfy rooms, big area to walk the dog and the breakfast is cracking. The fact that the staff are all friendly and genuine too is a nice wee bonus. Already booked another night.

Lovely stay.

We stayed at the Dunning Hotel for one night as a stop over on our trip to the Scottish Highlands from Lancashire. We booked 2 rooms. Both rooms were lovely and clean if a little basic but for both rooms it was a total of £119 which included breakfast at the nearby golf club cafe. I feel this was a bargain.
As regards the food, 3 of us had a 2 course meal plus drinks for dinner. The food was excellent and well cooked and served. The cost including drinks was £87, very reasonable given that one of the main courses was a sirloin steak. A very enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again.
