The hotel was nice, some areas need repairing and some paint but overall it was a good stay. The evening meal menu had changed compared to their website which was inconvenient but the food was really nice especially the breakfast.

Lovely weekday lunch
After visiting Harbour Heights a few weeks ago for afternoon tea we enjoyed it so much we said we would return for a weekday lunch.
We experienced the same warm welcome and on arrival 111-was offered a choice of seating.We chose a table with the most wonderful views of Poole Harbour.
The menu was fairly limited but we chose the fish and chips. The quality of the food was excellent, beautifully presented and perfect temperature.
We we given water to drink in addition to the lovely glass of chardonnay to compliment the meal .
We felt relaxed, in lovely surroundings and not hurried , therefore we enjoyed the whole experience. Service was by a gentleman called Sol who was attentive and humorous.
I think maybe Sunday Lunch needs to be tried next.

Old tired building not really fit as modern day hotel, but staff excellent and food good, good position in Poole,

Disappointing lunch
We were invited to this hotel for lunch. We were able to park just outside in the hotel car park. It is important to go straight to reception and log your car registration to avoid getting a fine. The reception staff were friendly.
Walked through to the restaurant and were not keen on the manager who was not very friendly and it felt like we were an interruption to his day.
We sat inside and the view is excellent and the best thing about the venue. It was not very busy at all and it became clear why.
Our waiter was pleasant and brought us menus and took drink orders.
It is not a very big menu and not much choice at all, there are no specials offered.
We chose fish & chips, pasta, crab & prawn salad and chicken salad.
Of all the meals the fish & chips was the best one. The pasta came with a very creamy, oily sauce, the crab & prawn salad was swimming in dressing. The chicken salad was described as including a soft egg which I asked to be left off as I didn’t fancy it, I also asked for the dressing to come on the side, the dressing was not provided at all. The chicken salad had rotten salad leaves hidden in the bottom, I took them out and put on a side plate and ate what I could. We did complain and the unfriendly manager said he would tell chef. It would have been better to replace the salad with a fresh one but that didn’t happen.
After the plates were cleared the unfriendly manager appeared with a plate of four small chocolate brownies which were delivered with the words, “hopefully that will make you happy”, an odd statement we thought.
We ordered coffee and sat outside. The brownies were very rich and a bit sickly.
After that experience we could not recommend the restaurant and shall not be returning.

Needs a makeover
Tired hotel. Needs an update. Dirty carpets in room and manky looking balcony. Good breakfast and comfy bed but that’s about it.
