It was 10 times better as a Crowne Plaza.

Bizarre recent makeover from it being a Crowne Plaza. Self check-in that was slow and annoying. The place now reminds me of the Penta Hotel about half a mile away. They’ve tried to turn the old lounge and breakfast area into an ersatz pub with dart boards and pool tables…appropriate in a resort hotel - less so in a business hotel.
My room was at the front of the hotel and noisy through the night. I was also the first room after the lifts so got the double whammy of noise outside and in.
The staff were pleasant though and breakfast was okay. We’ve held board meetings here in the past and I was checking it out after the re-brand to see if we could use it in November. We won’t be - it’s not that type of hotel anymore.
I won’t be back - even though I spend a lot of nights in Reading hotels each year.

Lovely hotel, conveniently located with excellent staff.
However, room was above the health club which was very noisy until late at night.

Welcoming reception staff. Large, modern, clean air conditioned room. Comfortable bed. Good selection for breakfast. Parking was £10 for 24 hours.

Spent 2 nights here as attending a festival. Booked a room with a balcony which was given to someone else on the first night....
Breakfast was good with quite a few choices but they had run out of gluten-free bread which was a shame.
Overall a decent enough stay.
