A nice little hotel, room was clean and tidy, although a little dated, could do with a bit of an upgrade on decoration and may replace the bed as it was quite lumpy in places. Overall OK for a one night stay.

Clean room, warm room, welcoming host, easy access to restaurant if needed, cheap good food. Perfect location no faults at all

Awful and ostracised!
We had a booking for 5:00pm and were told that the table would need to be returned by 6:30pm.Which was absolutely fine with us. However, from the moment we arrived, it was clear we were not welcome.
We arrived slightly early at 4:57pm, and some of our group were immediately questioned about where the others were. When the rest of our party arrived just a few minutes later at 5:02pm, we were abruptly informed that we wouldn’t be served at all. No explanation, just a blunt refusal.
What made it worse was the attitude. The staff, particularly the women working there, were incredibly rude and came across as aggressive. We felt spoken down to, dismissed and, quite frankly, ostracised. It felt as though simply not being locals meant we weren’t worthy of being treated with basic courtesy.
We had travelled all the way from Manchester to Wales and had nowhere else to go. Instead of hospitality, we were met with hostility. The whole experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable and treated unfairly.
A pub should feel warm and inviting this one made us feel the complete opposite.

Unacceptable
I was genuinely shocked by the condition of Room 4. The room was in a poor state — dirty, damp, and clearly not maintained. The electrics were questionable, with exposed fittings and no evidence of any recent PAT testing. The roof also leaked when it rained,we had to move the bed and place a bin with a towel carch the water which is completely unacceptable.
For a paying customer,£80 a night this experience felt totally disrespectful. Basic standards of cleanliness, safety, and upkeep were simply not met. With no point of contact to discuss our issue. Very disappointing.

Lovely little place. Small but more than adequate room for a base in mid wales. Hotel owns the cafe which do a fantastic breakfast starting at 8am.
