Typical city centre business hotel

Typical city centre business hotel. Very clean and tidy with friendly staff. Decent small double bedroom with cubicle type shower. I was on a five day coach trip holiday with Alfa tours. This type of hotel is unsuitable for this type of break. Breakfast was buffet style and adequate. Evening meal was not waiter service, you line up and have your selection put on your plate by the servers ( a bit like school dinners ). The food may have been hot when it was first put out but not when it was served. I would rate the food as average. This type of service did not go down well with the holiday guests. The bar meals seemed to be ok from what I saw. Drinks are a bit pricy, but not knowing the area are can’t comment on the value. One very annoying feature was the number of people who appeared to be at a seminar wandering around the ground floor all the time, talking loudly with a phone in their hand. They seemed not to be drinking but taking up a lot of the bar area.

Okay

Booked the Leonardo as the Premier Inn was full. As it was more expensive, I thought it might be better than the Premier Inn but standards were lower - more basic bathrooms , smaller room, thin walls and the beds/pillows less comfortable. No free breakfast for kids and what we paid was not worth it for some cold food that had been sitting out for a while.
We overlooked the internal central section so when people were outside the sound of their voices echoed around the atrium. Shame as I’d much rather have a window open at night than use air conditioning.
On the upside all the team were really friendly but, for me, that does not justify over £170 a night B&B.

Good hotel, value for money for central Sheffield.
The breakfast was a bit of a let down, not sure how it becomes £5 more expensive from check in to deciding in the morning. At 8.30 it shouldn’t really feel like food has been left out for hours, lukewarm, undercooked and underwhelming. Continental offering was reasonable which is just as well for £17.
Would stay again but with the surrounding cafes probably choose to eat elsewhere.

Very good stay, nice clean room, comfortable bed and good tea/coffee tray. Room had hairdryer/iron and fan. Good choice of breakfast. Nice, helpful staff. Hotel is in a really central location and within easy walking distance of everything. The very big plus is that there is secure parking for residents just around the corner and very reasonably priced to others I’ve stayed at.

Very Impressed

My 1st ever visit to this hotel saw me stay over 4 weekday nights in a inward facing quiet room. The decor was fresh and pleasing with a comfortable bed and seating. The air con worked well and there was a range of lighting options. The bathroom was fine and the water pressure spot on. Housekeeping serviced the room daily. My check-in and interactions with bar and breakfast staff were always friendly. The breakfast buffet was extensive, although the scrambled eggs didn't look appealing. Evening meals were taken in the bar and the menu is large enough to cater for a wide range of tastes and budgets. The location of the hotel means there are no noisy bars or clubs close by. Public transport options include the SC1 & SC2 free green buses which will take you to the bus and railway stations.
