A special place

Our second visit to the fox but definitely not our last. Both Johnny and paul make you feel so welcome with the excellently run pub and delicious food. Stopping here is definitely something to look forward to.

The hunt for the Fox Inn

A lively pub in Souldern near Aynho - offering amazingly well cooked and tasty lunches and dinners. Staff so . Wehad been served here 15 years ago and after a small amount of searching , we found it again, staff willing to help and seek to make your interest their top priority! Great tidy decor and quick table service considering freshly made food. Cost is on par with other local pubs and cafes. Clean and lovely throughout- well worth a visit.

Friendly welcome and great food

Set in the middle of a quiet Oxfordshire village and tucked out of the way. A very traditional pub where you receive a very warm and friendly welcome. The food is of the highest quality and the menu changes regularly. I organised a meal for 20 and ordered in advance with the usual vegetarian and gluten free mixture and all our food came out at the same time and everyone really enjoyed their meals. having found this hidden gem many have returned for lunch or supper!! Great food great hosts traditional village pub what more can you ask for?!!

We stayed here for a wedding nearby and so glad we did as most of the other guests were staying in a big soulless corporate hotel....this is a lovely old stone building in a beautiful little village setting.
Johnny and Paul couldn't do enough for us from phoning beforehand to let us know they're getting more fans for the rooms because of the heat, making lovely breakfasts for us and serving a great pint of cider, offering advice on local taxis and phoning to say I'd forgotten my charger before I'd got to far away on the drive home....
Our friends had to unavoidably cancel on the first of our 2 nights and were happy to pay for it but the owners refused to take their money....an unbelievable touch that wouldn't happen in other hotels.
We'll definitely be back if we have any other events in the area and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others....

Perfect village local

An absolutely lovely, characterful village pub, full of atmosphere and locals as it should be. Great food (the sea bass was exceptional) and great service from the loveliest staff, can’t recommend it highly enough. If only we could transport it home to the Isle of Wight…!
