We stayed here for one night. The room was lovely and clean, food was great and the staff were friendly & helpful. Location wise it’s perfect for the cruise terminal. The only thing that lets this tavern down is the noise. We stayed on a Friday, we were kept awake with the beat of music late at night by a neighbouring pub. Overall a nice tavern that I wish we could stay at again, but the risk of noise and a busy outside party street would put us off staying again.

This tavern/hotel is a great find for anyone looking to spend any time in Southampton. Less than a kilometre to the cruise ship terminal and is nestled in and amongst a lively neighbourhood of restaurants and bars. The rooms are well maintained and well appointed. The tavern has a great menu for all meals. The warm friendly staff were eager to assist with any inquiries.

The hotel is located in an entertainment area. The made to order breakfast was great. We were 5 minutes from the cruise port. The room was very nice and clean. The staff were all very nice.

This was a marvelous hotel in a wonderful location. We were right 'downtown', did a lot of walking and sighteeing. We stayed there 2 days pre-cruise. It was close to the port, and they arranged transportation to the port for us. Their breakfast was included and was amazing. So much was included on the buffet and the menu for choices. I was just sorry that my appetite isn't bigger enough to have one of everything! Their bar choices were great. The only drawback was the stairs. They don't have an elevator, and while they did offer to store extra luggage and carry smaller items, the steps were still a chore. They warned us ahead of time, so I packed a larger ship suitcase, and a small 2 night bag for the hotel, which we could manage ourselves. Another oddity? There wasn't a telephone in the room, so the only way we could get assistance on a room issue was either to trudge down four flights of stairs, or wait until morning. It was an issue with the channels on the TV, so we made do and waited until morning. They fixed the problem immediately after we told them.
The area around the hotel was filled with bars and restaurants, so it wasn't a quiet night, but it wasn't overwhelming. There was an amazing italian restaurant right across the street, and we started our vacation on a high note. The dinner at the hotel was pretty incredible as well. All in all, we will stay there again the next time we sail out of Southampton!

Excellent hotel and bar/restaurant. Friendly and service minded staff. The hotell is managed by the same staff as the pub/restaurant. Feels like home! Rooms are renovated and modern but with a lot of charm. Rooms are equipped with a/c. Excellent location close to the city and cruise terminals. A bit loud on Oxford street in the evenings but it did not bother us.
