Constantly brilliant!

Consistently brilliant! We try to eat at least once a week in The White Heart, we look forward to it as we know we will not be disappointed! The chef has a great understanding of the food people love to eat, it’s always cooked to perfection, and the portions are substantial to say the least without compromising quality! All of the staff are well appointed and very attentive to your needs! I constantly recommend this establishment to family friends and who ever asks me where can we eat in St Austell! ❤️

Avoid! Dishonest and grubby!

Leak in bathroom (see pictures) asked to vacate the room early the following morning so the plumber could resolve (we are on a break, getting up early wasn't in the plan) offered free drinks or 20% off a meal the following day) we were going out for the day and to a gig so neither were an option. The following morning at checkout we had to wait for a "manager" to arrive, after discussing he explained we had to go through booking.com for a refund as to reduce the room rate they would still have to pay 18% on the full amount. Andrew said they'd discussed a £40 reduction taking the amount to £150 - I said that was what what we were thinking and asked that he emailed to confirm before we left as already felt we were being played, he took my husband's email address and said he would, shocker, he didn't! They have offered £19 but it's no longer about the money, it's about dishonesty! I've asked for a smile level email and brewery email address to discuss, now emailed refusing that and saying matter is closed! I won't be leaving it!
The hotel itself is tired and grubby and overpriced for the condition! Photos attached.

Great food, good atmosphere

We are here whilst on holiday. The meals were excellent. I had fish served with fresh veg and my partner had Carribean curry. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. Would reccomend.

Lovely welcoming hotel with good food options

Stayed for one night for a work event. Warm welcome by Michel on arrival and excellent service overall. Rooms clean, bed comfortable, great food and drink selection. Lovely atmosphere and all staff really made an effort. Good breakfast included in room rate, which was also great value. Was really impressed and would definitely return if I was in the area. This hotel/ pub has character, as do the staff, which I really enjoyed. Thank you and well done to all the team!

Great Stay at the White Hart Hotel, St Austell

We went for a short break Monday to Friday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this historic town hotel.
The Staff were first class polite and attentive and made you feel welcome.
The Breakfast Menu was second to none and all of the food was presented nicely and on hot plates so the food stayed nice and warm.
The Dinner Menu had plenty of choice including a light bites menu which offered good value for money. The meals that we had were always hot and freshly cooked.
The room we stayed in was very comfortable, clean and well presented. It maybe a little dated but that should not detract from the fact that the hotel was excellent in every aspect - I only ever use any hotel room as a place to rest not live in.
The Car Park was easy to access and I never had an issue parking. It is secured via an electronic barrier with a coded keypad - Code supplied when booking is confirmed.
It’s has parking for about 10 cars on a first come bases.
Will definitely rebook in the future, thank you.
