Another lovely stay
Another lovely stay x We are already looking forward to returning. All the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We loved are swims in the pool and the grounds and location are beautiful. The only one criticism I have is the bed was a little too soft for me on this occasion and perhaps needs replacing.
We are already looking forward to returning in May such a fab base and lovely atmosphere. We stayed over the bank holiday weekend and it was a lovely end to our summer

Extremely poor hotel
Visitex 23 August "26. We will NEVER stay here again. The room we were originally allocated was not as per the photos online. Definitely not a Club Double. Receptionist told me I had to contact Booking.com regarding this?! As "not their fault". Second room was just as bad. Twin beds pushed together to make a 'double' and room not very clean. In the morning we were disgusted to find the sheets we had slept in were filthy and very badly stained - see photos.I spoke to the Duty Manager and attempted to negotiate a part refund after explainjng the situation. Absolutely NO interest shown. Our concerns were totally dismissed. Extremely poor customer service all round. Do not waste your money on this hotel.

Going Down Hill
We have stayed at the Cliffden Hotel every year since 2020, several years more than once. Location is superb as are the gardens. The room was spacious but our sleep suffered badly due to the close proximity of the road, could be improved with double glazing. Reasonably clean, certainly not cheap.
We booked into the restaurant for 6.30pm only to be told that 6 of the 10 main dishes were not available, pretty poor really. Sadly there was only one variety of red wine available, out of several on the wine list. The meal we had was ok but not what we really wanted, felt really let down. The waitresses were lovely, as were all the staff that we had dealings with, apart from managers, credit to them, seems that management is at fault and really needs sorting. We were told on arrival that there was a drive to improve the food with different daily menus. This is certainly not working.
Breakfast was spoilt due to hot food having to go on cold plates, not good, how hard is it to warm plates? No mushrooms or fresh tomatoes and the coffee from the machine was only lukewarm. Such a pity.
All seems to be going down hill, such a pity.

Hotel location and grounds good but no mini fridges or air con.Some of communal floorcoverings need replacing. Too dog friendly ie allowed in dining room.

A great place to stay in Teignmouth
This hotel was an excellent find. Set in beautiful grounds and really close to the seafront, but in a quiet and peaceful area. The sea view from the breakfast room was wonderful and the hotel was well maintained, spotlessly clean and up-to-date. The people working here were all friendly, warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
