Great spot and fantastic value for money.

Value for money is spot on. Simple but nice room, twin for me and daughter, great night sleep. Very welcoming staff, as it’s a pub we had dinner both nights and food was excellent.
Shower just as I like it, hot and strong water flow.
For what we paid this is an absolute gem and I’m sure I would some back.

Comfy stay, great team.

We stayed one night while cycling Hadrian's Wall. Not sure why I booked a twin room, but they were absolutely fine with us changing to a double room when we arrived and they locked our bikes in their outhouse too. Very accommodating, very friendly and helpful team looking after the place. It's nothing fancy, but had tea/coffee facilities and all the essentials, so all good. It's on the main road, but we didn't hear any noise and had a very comfortable night.
They stop serving food at 4pm on Sunday, as does pretty much everywhere in the village - our fault, as we should have done our homework, but it was a bit of a surprise!

Hadrian's Wall walk Day 5 - West to East

Stayed at the Ship Inn on Day 5 of my West to East walk along Hadrian's Wall, Was surprised to find that the pub and restaurant are both closed on Mondays and Tuesdays ( i was staying on a Monday night) , I was met and checked in by Michelle who was helpful and explained alternative venues for meals The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet, I would be happy to stay again (maybe on a night that the restaurant is open)

Pleasant stay in a lovely location

Nice pub in a lovely little village. Room was clean and tidy when we arrived . Tea and coffee making facilities provided And outside our room extra biscuits tea coffee as well as an iron and board if needed for the guests . Accommodation was about five minutes walk from railway station which was very convenient and handy for visiting other places .
Our room wasn’t maintained during our stay which was a bit disappointing . Only the bed was made . Also there were no toiletries provided nor bath mat so had to be extra careful when climbing over bath to get a shower.
Overall we had a nice stay and met some lovely people .

Great Sunday Lunch

Fabulous food ! Excellent service .. can't wait to return . Everything was perfect
Really enjoyed the Tempura Prawns, really crispy and light, served with a lovely salad
Main was beautifully cooked too .
