Perfect Spot for Spider Mountain

Great Stay at Thunderbird. We stayed in cabin #9 and it was perfect for our party of 3. Great location to Spider Mountain. Got up early in the morning to drive up and grab a spot for the day, unloaded and took the truck right back to the cabin. Walked backed to our spot and hung out for the day. Our cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We had a beautiful view with a short walk to the boat ramps as well. We're already thinking about going back this summer to take advantage of the fishing! The ladies in the office were very sweet and answered all of our questions as well as it was our first time at Spider Mountain. Will stay again!

A fun weekend trip

My friend and I stayed here over the weekend for sort of a ladies slumber party. Coming from opposite ends of Texas ,we met each other here. Everyone we dealt with were helpful &accommodating, especially since my friend had mobility issues. Comfortable beds with quilts. Interesting lights made out of pipe & a coffee maker in the room. There is a nice looking pool. Most people stay here in order to mountain bike at Spider Mountain. Since we had a room, they let us get on the ski lift free that carries the bikers up. We had a great time watching the bikes go down doing jumps &speeding on the curved paths in the cedars. Once we got to the top we had fun conversations with the people we met. We took their picture & they took ours. Ha Ha ha ha !!!! 2 old ladies posing with a mountain bike! One can see Lake Buchanan also from the top of spider Mountain.

Run down property, no lake view

We reserved a large cabin with a lake view at this resort. When we arrived we found the property run down, bad smell in room and had no lake view as promised. We canceled on the spot but was still charged for first day stay. Terrible experience. This is more like a run down fish camp than a resort property.

Nice people

Comfortable, but not luxurious. Nice people running it. Had a small problem with the room which they quickly and cheerfully took care of. Lake access and a swimming pool. They have a little event center for people to meet.
Low key is the watchword.

Biker friendly crash pad

I gave my husband a mountain bike weekend with his friend. Booked them here. It's a very short bike ride to the Spider Mountain lift. They could use their own bathroom (instead of Portapoties at the lift) and crash to ride again. the rooms are NOT fancy. the furniture is oddly placed, like blocking the closet! But it was clean and the kind of place where they could keep the bikes safely in their room. Definitely the best ace to stay for bikers on Spider Mountain Mount
