Great property great staff. Can not speak for renovated rooms but older unrenovated “rustic” rooms are a bit small but well priced for the area and room size. Floor in hallway was very slanted. Water was either burning hot or freezing cold. amenities were thoughtful but implemented oddly. Bed was on metal frame with plywood. Door was very thin. All being said the stay was comfortable and generally worth the price for the 2 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to downtown Chatham. Definitely the best value

Kind staff

We originally booked the double room for 2 nights. It was an older tiny room and bathroom on the 3rd floor with half of the room cut off due to the shape of the roof. We asked the front desk if we could be moved after one night and the manager was extremely kind and moved us to the first floor with a larger room. We appreciated the gesture and enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Surfside is a vibe

Super nice and cozy spot with a friendly atmosphere. Vicky and the rest of the staff are awesome and fun to chat with, and the common areas typically have approachable and interesting guests lounging around. Front yard is popular with the local bunnies if you're into that.
The place also happens to be one of the best locations in town — right at the midpoint between the ocean and a prime July 4 parade viewing area, and in easy walking distance to the local shops and restaurants.
Great rooms as well; got sort of a rustic character but without sacrificing the general comfort, cleanliness, or essentials you'd expect from a high-quality chain hotel.
Been coming here for years and highly recommend it. Photo taken just now while enjoying the ocean breeze on the porch swing before bed.

Worst possible experience

I cannot implore you enough not to stay at this hotel. I have never had a worse experience. It was so loud at the hotel that I didn’t fall asleep until 5am. I almost slept in my car. I ended up getting 3 hours of sleep. Management (Laura) could have cared less. She refused to refund me for any of the stay but I left early anyways and took the loss. That’s how bad it was.

Great location just a minute from the beach and also a short walk to town. Loved they had beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels available to borrow. Room was basic but had everything we needed.
