Glamping on Steroids

Glamping… the only type of camping we will do at this age The perfect place for “roughing it” in style was at AutoCamp on Cap Cod. We opted to stay in a classic cabin, but airstreams, and tents are available as well. The classic cabin was spacious and comfortable and well stocked with a small kitchen. We did have an accessible cabin, so our bathroom was a great size as well.
The community of AutoCamp is such a vibe. We loved walking through the paths seeing all the different “neighborhoods” we were surrounded by.
There is a general store onsite for simple needs. The kitchen also has some great options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The property sits right off the Shining Sea Bikeway. We brought our bikes and hopped on and off the path to go to the beach, lunch and dinner. You can also rent bikes onsite.
One of the nights we preordered a meal that we could grill on our fire, everything we needed was provided and it was awesome to have a chill night and be able to cook our own food. In the common area they also have live music at night, which we could hear from our camp, so that was a total bonus!

Disappointing Experience — Not the Glamping Experience Advertised

Our stay at AutoCamp Falmouth was unfortunately very disappointing. Given the price point and the way the property is marketed as a luxury “glamping” experience, we arrived with high expectations. Those expectations were not met.
From the beginning, the check-in experience was unpleasant. The staff member assisting us was grumpy and unprofessional, which immediately set a negative tone for our stay.
The property itself also appeared poorly maintained. There were areas that felt neglected and unsafe to walk around. This was particularly disappointing for a property that charges a premium rate and presents itself as an upscale outdoor hospitality experience.
Our Airstream was in particularly poor condition. The shades were broken, the couch that converts into a bed was visibly stained, and there was mold growing on the exterior of the Airstream. These are not the kinds of conditions I would expect at this price point.
We also experienced technical issues during check-in that required an employee to come to our Airstream to make a repair. Unfortunately, rather than being helpful, the employee seemed annoyed and became aggressive during the interaction. The experience became uncomfortable enough that I simply told him it was fine because I wanted him to leave.
AutoCamp markets this property as “glamping,” but our experience was far from what I would consider glamping. Glamping should combine the experience of being outdoors with comfort, cleanliness, thoughtful design, and a high level of service. Unfortunately, our experience fell short in all of those areas.
At this price point, expectations are understandably high. Guests should not have to deal with broken fixtures, stained furnishings, mold, poorly maintained grounds, or uncomfortable interactions with staff.
Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay and would not return. The property has potential, but significant improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, staff professionalism, and overall guest experience are needed to justify the premium price and the “glamping” experience being advertised.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. I’m truly sorry that your stay fell so far short of expectations. The concerns you described regarding the condition of the Airstream, grounds, and your interactions with our team are not the experience we want to provide.
I especially apologize for the uncomfortable interactions you experienced with our staff. Professional, welcoming service is a fundamental part of hospitality, and we take your comments seriously. We will be reviewing your feedback with our leadership, maintenance, and housekeeping teams.
I would also like to offer you a complimentary night on us and an opportunity to provide you with the experience you should have received. Please reach out to me directly, as I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your stay further and personally address your concerns.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. I hope we can regain your trust and provide you with a much better experience in the future.
Best,
Donald

Upscale Camping Experience

If you want to experience camping with the comforts of home, this is your place. Autocamp supplies a quiet campground with a fleet of Airstreams modified just for them with a/c, enlarged bathroom with shower and toilet, kitchenette, and fire pit. Autocamp is located in the heart of Falmouth right next to an amazing bike trail and a view of the Atlantic ( although far away), Falmouth beaches, ferries to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The Airstream was clean and ready. Autocamp offers a main house for morning coffee, breakfast, store, bathrooms and showers for those in tents. The staff were friendly and helpful and available 24/7. The Airstream was a little pricey but less expensive than other choices during this season. We were interested in seeing what the RV life was like and decided it was not for us, but a great place to experience the RV/camping life.

I was disappointed with both the accommodations and what was actually provided during our stay. The tent was moldy and dirty, the sheets didn't fit the bed properly, and the zippers on the doors and windows barely worked. While it served as a place to sleep, it was nowhere near worth the price.
I traveled with my two young children, ages 1 and 4. One of my biggest concerns was that the tent had large, exposed electrical outlets that couldn't be covered or hidden. Because of this, I had to carry my 1 year old for most of our stay to keep him safe.
On top of the expensive accommodations, there is a mandatory $35 per day amenities fee. Unfortunately, the amenities didn't live up to the cost. The shared restrooms and showers were consistently dirty and frequently out of towels. There was even the same wad of hair sitting in the shower drain throughout our entire four night stay.
They also don't allow guests to bring in outside firewood, instead requiring you to purchase it onsite for $18 per bundle, which amounted to only about four pieces of wood. Finally, the complimentary coffee and granola were underwhelming.
I did raise these concerns during our stay, but I was told the property was fully booked and that they couldn't move us until our final night. While I appreciate that they acknowledged the issue, it didn't resolve the problems we experienced for the majority of our trip.
Overall, I would not recommend this property. Between the poor cleanliness, maintenance issues, safet
