Formosa mixed with Garden View both are a time capsule of the past

Hidden across the street from a local tourist attraction, atmosphere is a mix of car noise mixed in with this where you come at night to disappear to rest.

It would be nice if the room had a better selection for tv Chanel’s or Cable options for the selection and a breakfast option for guest

The hotel is good overall. The rooms are well-equipped, spacious and clean. However, it’s a bit pricey for its tier compared to hotels in other states, since California has a high cost of living.

Super sketchy set up- the Formosa is part of the Garden Inn (probably acquired later) and it’s the poor cousin of the Garden inn- when the light was broken in my room and nobody was in that side of the hotel, I went to change rooms but there was “no vacancy” on the Garden Inn side- it’s because they are two different prices. The problem is that the Formosa Inn has photos of the Garden inn as part of its advertising- kind of a bait and switch if you ask me- we could t believe the nice look for a really affordable price- should have known the old adage is still true. Did not stick around for breakfast but went to the Starbucks next door.
Def a passing through kinda place.

This is a very old poorly maintained motel. The Formosa Inn is run by the next door neighbor the Garden Inn. The dark green carpet may be concealing the mold that was evident in the bathroom. The TV was useless and there were only 2 plugs in the room for charging devices. After seeing the room my wife said I will no longer be choosing places we will stay. I wondered about my judgment also until I looked again at the app. It rated this place 8.0 very good. This place should have been a 5.0 at best. No visible bugs or bad odors. Air conditioner sounded like it was on its last legs.
Management was very friendly and helpful. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights. They helped me cancel the second night and got us a room in their sister hotel the Garden Inn. The facilities at the Garden Inn were much better. Still old and needs a lot of work. This is a converted apartment complex. Garden Inn would get a 6.0-6.5. Plenty of space but still with the scary dark green carpet.
