One of the Better Hampton Inns

3rd stop on a road trip from So CA to WA, and this was the second of back to back nights at Hampton Inns. This was up to the usual Hampton standards, which is a good thing. Large room, everything generally well maintained, good location. This hotel felt a bit friendlier than most and they did offer complimentary water for Diamond status, something I've found most Hampton Inns don't recognize. Recommended.

Exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff. Loud A|C. Abnormally loud toilet flush. Adult son said pull-out couch wasn’t comfy. Slept well. Much better breakfast options than similar hotels. Satisfied.

Great except for barn door.

We had a fairly good night at the Hampton. Even though it’s located not far from I-5 and a busy main road the road noise wasn’t noticeable. The outdoors area was well taken care of.
Our room was spacious, clean, beds comfortable. Plenty of charging opportunities.
Bathroom with sink inside bath. The sliding barn door that separates the bathroom from the bedroom was very heavy, difficult to move and noisy due to heavy rolling action. So much for not waking up others in the room in the middle of the night!
Breakfast was good with plenty of choices and good coffee.
All staff were friendly and professional. Things were in good working order, making this a well managed motel.
Not entirely sure I’d stay here again. The sliding barn door is enough of a downer to look for another motel to stay in. One star deduction for the barn door.
When redecorating and improving a motel keep in mind appearance should come secondary to functionality. Not everything new is actually an improvement.

Sleepless nights

Dangerous dog breeds at this hotel allowed without any concern by staff. Attack dogs unable to be around other people, barking all night, staff is dismissive and basically just young girls. Beds are cheap with big dips in them. Hotel is right on interstate so it’s very loud. Walls are thin so you can hear everything.

Excellent for what it is

The good:
Everything. Quiet, very clean, good breakfast options (usual Hampton Inn) friendly staff. Recently renovated.
The bad:
Nothing I can pick on. But the area of Grants Pass is riddled with homeless,very sad to see such a beautiful place that you don't feel safe in its public parks
