Experience the best stay in Hill City

We were encouraged to stop in Hill City as part of our western tour to Mount Rushmore and the area. After doing a little research, we landed on the Lantern Inn because of its high reviews and quaint appearance. We could not have been more pleased! Hill City has so much to offer, and The Lantern Inn gave us the perfect homebase. Since it is family-owned, you get personalized service. The rooms are clean and comfy, and we felt very safe. I highly recommend The Lantern Inn!

Charming 19 unit hotel with clean comfortable rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Double sinks in the bathroom was a nice touch Bed was comfortable. Very clean. Quiet. Outdoor bbq areas. It’s a perfect spot for a base camp to explore the Black Hills.

For whatever reason the Lantern Inn had us getting there a day before our scheduled date so they had us down as a “No Show”. They said that they had had some issues with third party reservations and couldn’t call us. Anyway, when we arrived, it was confusing but they were amazing and made sure we were accommodated and made sure everything was good. It is such a friendly, nice place and, I never did catch her name, but the manager was soooo nice and soooo helpful. Great place.
