Decor

The food is delicious in the restaurant. I had warm vegetable salad and 3 different breakfasts so far. The outdoor area at the restaurant is gorgeous. I have my own sky box for recording which suits me a lot as I'm here a week. The perfect choice. I love the colorful artwork in the interior.

Poor choice

I was working at a convention at The Diplomat in December but they were all out of rooms so I had to find a close-by location. The Tides was only a few buildings away so I selected that as my place to stay the week I was there.
When I arrived at The Tides, I noticed that the toilet was running when I entered the unit. I entered the bathroom and jiggled the handle and it would eventually stop running. That would occur every time I used the bathroom the week I was there. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning.
I entered the bedroom and attempted to turn on my TV. The remote was missing the cover for the batteries and it had electrical tape holding the batteries in place. I removed the tape and attempted to reposition the batteries to get a better connection. This did not work so I contacted management and they informed me that they would replace the TV for me at noon the next day. When I returned to my room at 8:30 pm the next day, the remote was still sitting next to the TV. I tried to power up the TV but it wouldn't work so I contacted management. They responded promptly and sent someone to my room. He looked at the remote and placed it inside the dresser drawer (what was he saving it for?) and he went in the living room and found a different remote that was next to the living room TV. That was the fix. I appreciated the quick response from management.
The bathroom sink drained slowly, so I learned to run the water at a rate where the drain could keep up with the flow of water. When I took a shower I noticed there were plenty of towels but NO washcloths. Even odder, there was only ONE bar of soap that they gave me which presumably covered the bathroom sink, the shower, and the kitchen sink. No extras? Really???
Apparently, not having any spares was the standard way they prepped for guests. The toilet paper was a fresh roll when I arrived but it was the only roll of toilet paper that was in the unit. I checked inside the vanity, in the linen closet, and any other logical place where there may be an extra roll - but none was to be found. I was at The Tides from Sunday to Friday and I'm proud to say that I timed the toilet paper just right as I ran out the day I was leaving.
The week that I stayed there, they were testing the fire alarm every day from Tuesday till Friday between 10am and 5pm. They left notices on our doors letting us know if the personnel doing the testing wanted access to our rooms, please allow them access. I had to work remotely on several days so I had to endure the sound of the fire alarm going off every 5 minutes (no exaggeration) during those hours. I was on several phone calls and a few Teams calls where they asked me what that noise was that they were hearing. I explained that it was not a real fire but that they were testing the alarm the week I was there. Had I known this in advance, I would have selected another location.
On one occasion, I had left my room and I could not get back in once I returned. The door would not open. I entered the code several times so I knew that I had entered it correctly. I contacted management and they told me the door swells. They asked me to pull the door towards me and enter the code while I was doing that. It worked. Incidentally, the door hinges were very tight and you really had to pull hard on the door in order to close it.
Perhaps the worst part of my stay was the funky smell in my bed. I was so grossed out by the smell, and I tried to not think about it. The mattress was sealed with a mattress cover so I really couldn't see the condition of the mattress or the origin of the foul smell. Maybe it was the comforter on the bed???
Lastly, on the day of my departure, I asked the management if I could have a late checkout. I was hoping to leave at noon rather than 11 am. They declined. That's their prerogative but not very accommodating and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
Many of these things could have been avoided. Sure, I could have asked for another bar of soap, or washcloths, or toilet paper...but my stay at The Tides simply fell short on almost all levels.

Miami stay. Affordable and comfortable. With a bang

Let´s separate the items:
Location: Perfect. Close to a Walmart and other stores. Next to the beach. very nice buidling.
Apartment: Comfortable. Not too dark in the bedroom (we actually complained about that because at 7 am the room was very sunny). Well equiped.
People in the building: We stayed in apartment 5C of the 3901 tower. Our next door neighbour was a person that could not bear the crying of a 2 year old baby. So she kept banging the wall (drywall, by the way). So our baby was even more stressed and kept crying. Also she came to our door and started banging. So if you ever think about going DO NOT GO TO APARTMENT 5C !!!
Hope this helps

Great stay at the tides 15F

We rented from Airbnb, #15F
The condo is really nice, and it’s clean. The furnishings are modern and updated. The view from the balcony is amazing!
There’s plenty of seating space in the living room with two large sofas.
The kitchen is spacious and very nice, with updated appliances.
The beds are very comfortable as well!
Though not large, the balcony is perfectly suitable and the view is to die for. There are 2 doors to access the balcony.. one from the living area, and one from the master.
There are actually black out shades that come down which is AWESOME.
There is no closet in the master, only drawer storage, so we had to use the hang in the second bedroom which was sufficient. The Wi-Fi works great, and the AC is great as well.
I messaged the host about beach towels, and a few hours later some were delivered to our condo! Awesome.
Some things to note:
We paid $100 to park for 8 days
$30 for each FOB
There’s only 5 umbrellas at the pool, get there early.
If you arrive after 5:00 pm, you must wait till 9:00 am the following day to check in, This also means you have no key FOB to access any of the doors. This was a bit of hassle for me as I went out to look at the pool early am and got locked out. I didn’t know, but there’s a button to push to for the person up front let you in, but I didn’t see it.
There was an issue with the thermostat, and our host Cielo also had someone out to look at in within hours. Very impressed with the promptness of responses of the host, as well as taking care of issues and requests. Did I mention the view??
I would 100% rent this condo again

Condo 8X (building 3801, 8th floor, condo X): Bare-bones at a decent location

We stayed in condo 8X (building 3801, 8th floor, condo X). The location is decent (basic beach adjacent to the pools) but there are a few things you should know. Some of our feedback is specific to condo 8X, and some applies to The Tides in general:
General Tides info:
1. common area / hallway air fresheners are too strong-smelling. What are they trying to hide?
2. common laundry area is near the service elevator. You have to get a card from the registration office in 3109 building, which is only open from 9am-5pm
3. It costs $7 just for the privilege of having a laundry card
4. Laundry card has a minimum $10 credit load if you do it in building 3901, $5 in 3801
5. You can stay on the property after check-out (if your flight leaves later in the day). There are bathrooms & private showers in the pool area and also on the lower floor down the hallway from the gym.
6. You don't have to turn-in your key fobs and they will still work after you check-out.
7. Be sure to bring both your parking rear-view mirror pendant as well as the yellow carbon copy of the parking receipt in order to get your $20 cash back.
8. On your first day, if you arrive after 5pm you have to have the valet person open the parking gate and also the front doors to get in the Tides. Once inside, the person working the front desk at night will have to let you into the doors that lead to the elevators. You then use the condo keypad information provided by your renter to get in the actual condo.
9. Towels are NOT provided in the gym or at the pool
10. The pool and gym do close early (around sunset)
11. There is NOT a hot tub or sauna
12. There are mostly families and retiree age people staying at the tides
13. There is on-premise store (we noticed some prices were 2x that of the grocery store but others were ok, such as a muffin for $4)
14. There is a 7-11 right across the street and down a little ways. Or a Walmart over the bridge. Further down from that there are two grocery stores: Publix and Winn Dixie. You can walk to Walmart but it's a long walk. There's an italian/pizza restaurant right across the street from the Tides and a few other small restaurants.
Specific to condo 8X: (March 2023 visit) The unit itself is VERY basic, sufficiently clean and mostly empty, with cheap Ikea-type furniture. The cushions on the couches were stained and a bit gross, but we managed. The two couches also fold down if another sleeping area is needed.
1) kitchen only had 5 forks (but the condo accommodates 6 guests). Very few other utensils ... we ended up buying paper plates and bowls and plastic utensils.
2) only two cereal size bowls
3) only one rectangle baking sheet, which doesn't fit in the oven.
4) the hall toilet didn't flush when we arrived. The condo maintenance fixed it 2 days later.
5) light switch in master room doesn't control the room light. You have to turn it on directly on the lamp.
6) no oven mitts
7) no spices
8) no paper towels. Very limited toilet paper is included. Plan on buying your own.
9) 2 beach chairs, two small boogie boards, 1 complete beach umbrella
10) lock and unlock of the front door is strange process
11) dishwasher is missing roller wheels on one side on the lower rack
12) master bedroom needs a stand fan. Room is stuffy even when it's high 60s to low 70s outside
13) half of the kitchen lights burned out on our last day
14) not enough towels for 6 people (between pool, beach and shower usage)
