Casa de Frank -Joshua Tree
We enjoyed the master room with the nice big washroom. We felt comfortable at Casa de Frank the moment we got there. Enjoyed making a bbq in the backyard and it was very peaceful sitting there with a glass of wine late at night. Breakfast was also easy to make ib the comfortable kitchen where we met fellow travellers.
It was very convenient as well as the next morning we left to visit Joshua National Park which we really enjoyed.
Lovely place...we woud definitely book it again.

Don't bother!!
We didn't have a good experience at this place.
A nasty woman (dog walker of Frank) shut the door on us as we were walking up the driveway, so much for a friendly place!
When we checked in we saw a dog bowl in the kitchen ...uh oh, wasn't listed in the add that they had 3 dogs!
At 10.30 at night a guest started cooking ham and eggs and stunk the whole place out, our room was just off the kitchen so we were in the firing line. The smell soaked our room until 12 midnight even though we opened our windows and flies came in! The 3 dogs at the place get locked away in the garage at night and there no one to look after them, they howled, barked and banged on the door untill 2am, that's when I left a message for Frank on his cell, this was totally unacceptable.
We couldn't sleep at all after that. We cancelled our next nights stay based on this awful experience where we lost sleep and had limited time at Joshua tree.
Frank is quite conniving , he bribed us by sayinh he would refund us both nights if we didn't leave a bad review!!
Well, he didn't refund us , in fact we had to wait 3 weeks to get our money.
This nasty guy with no courtesy lied and thought we would forget about it,I was ready to jump in my car and pay him a visit for making us wait so long! Also Booking failed us by not keeping on top of our complaint, we made numerous follow ups, really bad resolution skills!
Stay away from this hell hole and beware if things go wrong , you'll be fighting for your money with Booking too!

Dreadful and very dirty
Dreadful. It’s a bedroom in a family home sharing the bathroom.
The room was filthy dirty, and the bathroom too. Very run down.
Given the wrong key and then blamed by the ranting wife. So rude, shoutout us both.

Very average.
Casa De Frank
Positives- allows dogs, central location, TV with Roku so lots of things to watch.
Cons- did not see covid safe. Two people were in the house cleaning and taking care of some things with no masks on. Other guests did not wear any masks at all. House did not smell fresh nor did bedding which had some hair on it. I think during covid times people really need to be on their A game with cleaning. It was pretty clean aside from not smelling fresh and dusty blinds. Closet had some weird things in it like old dirty looking blankets, set of steak knives. Bathroom was super cold.
On booking.com it was not totally clear that it was a shared house seems ambiguous. All pictures and verbiage made it seem like family room with kitchen was private which it wasn’t. That’s ok but the other guests were sketchy and bothersome, a few cards short of a full deck.
I picked this property because it has a hot tub but based on the property and other guests it did not seem like something I would want to be in at all. Not a nice outdoor area.
Overall do not pay over $80 and night. I paid double and it was way overpriced. I’m really confused at all the great reviews but I would not go back. Just did not feel comfortable at all.

Lovely Place!!!
We stayed here so we could visit Joshua Tree National Park and we made a great choice. The house is very clean, stylish and comfortable. There are a few options of rooms where you can pick to have an en suite or not. We chose to have the en suite and the room was really nice.
There is a kitchen which you can use for meal prep etc... however we visited the saloon, which was a 2 minute walk from the house.
Parking is available right outside the house and so will not cause any issues.
Overall, a great choice for people visiting the area and want value for money.
