Very old hotel and misleading room marketing. Not sure why anyone would recently give this property a 5 Star

This was one of the worst Springhill suites we have stayed in. There were no "suites" to speak of and "studio" was the key word. We were in a "Large Studio" and it was very old and not in good condition. The bed was only a "Marriott" bed from a mattress point of view, the box spring seemed to be none existant. I sunk almost 10+ inches into the bed when sitting on it. Wood in the room showed signs of dry rot. The hotel itself felt like it was 25+ years old. I felt bad for the staff that they have to support such a old and falling apart property. Paint chips hanging off the ceiling. If we weren't exhausted from our drive, we would have left. Not a Marriott experience that is for sure. Bathroom was so small the toilet was in a separate closet. I've not been in a bathroom before without a toilet. seems strange that it was build this way 20+ years ago. We've had much better experiences with newer springhill suites.

Needs improvement.

We will not be staying at this location again. We love staying at SpringHill Suites hotels but not this particular e we stayed for one night February 2025 in room 135 and this room needs attention as well.
First upon checking in the individual was polite however his attire did not seem to represent him as an employee as he was wearing a hoodie sweatshirt? Upon getting into our room the shower door handle was very loose, the glass door did not close properly so water came out on the floor upon showering. The stool in the living area had stains, alarm clock time was not correct, reading light did not work, ceiling I guess had been repaired in the past but looks sloppy as does the appearance around the shower enclosure. The overall appearance needed attention.
Breakfast the next morning, the scrambled eggs had a lot of liquid in the pan . The coffee ran out and the little I did get out of the urn was lukewarm. We got food after we checked out. Upon checking out by going to the front desk the young lady was sitting and paying attention to her cell phone. Saw me and responded in a way like “yea?”
Overall hotel did not feel as good and/comfortable as other ones I have stayed at.

I requested to switch my room upon checking in because the bathroom mirror was dirty. However, the new room I moved to had a foul, musky odor, and the couch had several stains.

I was a part of the build of this hotel 2007. And stay in this hotel around 2013. It was not the hotel that I remembered. Maybe due to the lack of resources to keep get up. Maybe it was a remodel, not really sure; but I remember the hotel being a lot more modern and luxurious. And this wasn't it

Need for Improvement in Front Desk Apparel

Stayed at this Marriott for one night in late March2025 when returning from our stay in Florida. Stay was average. Upon check in, we were greeted by two very nice and courteous young men. However, I was disappointed and frankly quite shocked with their apparel. The one young man looked like the sweatshirt he was wearing was about 4 sizes too big!! The other young man was dressed somewhat better, but not what I would expect. I am fully aware that I am from the “old school” mindset but sooo very disappointed that Marriott is not requiring a certain dress code for their employees.
