Clean and Inexpensive
My son and I stayed at the Emerald Inn for two nights. The hotel was clean and satisfactory for our needs. If you require lots of amenities, then this is not your hotel. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The hotel was not noisy. We were happy with the stay.

Terrible
Walked in and found cherieos on the tv stand. The toilet wouldn't flush. The sheets feel like cheap shower curtains and it's now 12:30 AM and I have heard nothing but slamming doors continuously since I laid down at 8:30 PM that was after someone decided 8:30 was the perfect time to vacuum the hall and shout a conversation over the noise from that. If you dont plan on sleeping this is the perfect place.

Don’t come here
Staff are very rude , bedding is dirty and have cigarette burns and holes in them , and they have ROACHES and don’t clean the rooms like they should and pimps, drug dealers and prostitutes stay here and harass you

A lot of repairs and waisted time
We arrived at 2:00 am. As expected, there wasn't anyone waiting at the front. We rang the bell twice before someone showed up to check us in. The person that helped us was nice. We were in room 119.
In the morning, our toilet became plugged. We didn't have too much toilet paper to cause the plug, After it went down, I had to hold down the flush lever the entire time. Their shower pressure and water temp was fine. They have the pattern on the Bottom of the shower that looks like it would be trip resistant. It is not. It is slippery. There was rush around the overflow drain. They only provide two little containers if shampoo. They are difficult to squeeze to get the shampoo out. I ended up turning them upside down in a cup to get enough out to wash my hair.
The next day, the toilet plugged again and did not flush down. Someone repaired it quickly.
Next problem is the pass cards to get to your room. They were continually not working. We would take it to get programmed again. It was several times each day we had to get these cards reprogrammed because they would work once then not work. They didn't work on the back entry door. Very frustrating when you need to use the bathroom and you can't get in.
The bed was not great and the pillows were not great. The heater in the room was nice after it heated up the room. The first night it was really cold.
I tripped going up the wheelchair ramp.
I suppose if it didn't have these issues, it would have been more expensive and we were looking for a basic room.

There for me when I needed
This hotel is an older hotel so it is not up to date. I have worked next to it at the Caribou for 7 years now and my car got stuck in the snow. After trying to get it out for two hours I ended up giving up and walking to this hotel. I wasn't expecting much but it was pretty average. The front desk staff was nice and had a very positive attitude despite the bad snow storm. Thanks for keeping the atmosphere light despite the storm!
