Quiet discovery
Such a pleasant surprise to find a spot in the land of hotels that was still family owned/run with true hospitality. Every detail is well thought out.

Disappointed
The markings for the hotel are very poor, a sign with two birds and no name marks the entrance. Parking is tight.
There is no indication of how or where to enter and check in. Very poor welcome experience. No help with luggage.
The room “the owner’s suite” was a very large space, though dark and gloomy even with lights on. The entry area had chairs and coffee table with the bathroom open and adjacent. The bedroom area was down two steps.
The pool was nice. There are bicycles for patrons use but at over 100F, not an option.
Dinner was excellent, delivered to our room as we were late arriving and all tables were full in the very small restaurant.
The bed was comfortable but the two steps up to the bathroom are dark and dangerous at night without any lighting. Would recommend a nightlight or something.
The bathroom is very odd. The tub, shower and sink are open to the room, toilet in a separate “closet”. The shower is completely open and there is a 1”rock lip that is designed to keep water in but since it is open and no curtain around it, water sprays everywhere anyway. the sink is adjacent so the countertop gets wet as does the bathroom floor. The sink is the poorest design I’ve ever seen in a hotel, against the wall and about 12” deep with a faucet set-up that extends out about 8” so there is no room to rinse your face without getting the countertop soaking wet or banging your forehead on the faucet. The tub is a stock tank trough and is quite high to get into it. Being of “a certain age” we declined climbing in or out of it. Towels were of poor quality for a “spa hotel”, thin and shredding at the edges. Not what should be provided at a luxury stay hotel.
Overall, I would not recommend for just an overnight stay. Maybe a regular room for a few days by the pool but it was almost too hot for even that during the day in August.

Excellent Service, Food, and Accomodations
We only stayed one night at Sparrows Lodge but have already booked our next trip. Desi was helpful during check in and at dinner. The beds and pillows are super comfortable, the shower and tub are amazing. The hospitality of the entire staff we interacted with was second to none. Thank you!

Extraordinary Stay All Around
This is one of my favorite hotels in the world. From the beautifully designed and well thought out rooms to the stunning pool and wonderful food, everything about this hotel is perfect. Thank you to the kind and friendly staff (Desie! Gabe! Jessica! Abby! Emily! You are wonderful!!) I have been staying here since 2015 and try to come as often as possible. Once you stay here it is impossible to stay anywhere else in Palm Springs. A truly spectacular and special place.

Perfection
I was beyond impressed with the lodge. The food the pool the staff. It was amazing. On my trip I stayed many places and this was my favorite one. When I return I plan on staying here my entire stay. Gabe was really helpful as well as all the staff. The welcome drink and the parting gift was so thoughtful and appreciated. The detail with the newsletter they give you and the fire and s'mores at night this is a true gem. I was so impressed by everything!!
