Wowza! The best place to stay in Ouray, no question! Amazing staff! Owner is personable, friendly, communicative, and resourceful. Couldn't have customized a better stay. Thank you!

We arrived about 30 minutes early and our room wasn't ready, which was fine, but once we were told it was ready there were many basic supplies missing such as bath soap, only one drinking cup, etc. and the bathroom floor was dirty. A later request for toilet paper was acknowledged but never provided (luckily we didn't need it!) Also I would prefer a higher quality breakfast instead of being offered a happy hour with signs emphasizing one drink/cookie per guest. The King Suite we stayed in was spacious and well laid out but overall it seems this property is cutting corners and needs more attentive management.

The Black Bear Manor is located close to Ouray's main street. The rooms were clean and cozy. The breakfast was good and hearty. The only negative was the Happy Hour wine treat ended 45 minutes early before we could enjoy a glass of wine, we assumed the staff wanted to leave work early, disappointing.

After I wrote that our first night the room was a little warmer than we are used to (we have central AC in Texas) there was a fan by our door the next morning and it made a world of difference. The breakfast every morning was so amazing…literally the best I have ever had. Its close to town (just know all the little shops close early) the chocolate chip cookies left out for happy hour were amazing! The morning breakfast were the best thing ever!! First day omelette, avocado toast, and crispy bacon and second day french toast and eggs and crispy bacon!!! We loved it
