We just needed a place to stay for an overnight trip.
This place was clean and newly renovated and the location was convenient.
Over all, everything was pretty good but the morning coffee was watery.

Horrible Experience - Never Staying Here Again

We have stayed at this Best Western in Kodak religiously since 2017 (except 2020) because of the hotel’s pet-friendly accommodations during our evacuation from Florida during Hurricane Irma. However, this most recent visit was absolutely terrible and nothing like the experiences we’ve had in the past.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel has drastically declined in quality. The sheets and pillowcases in our room were stained, and the extra blankets and sheets provided were also stained and even ripped. The room was not properly cleaned—there was mold on the shower curtain, the shower drain was on the bathroom floor, the toilet paper holder was ripped off the wall and haphazardly reattached, and stains were visible on the carpet and ceiling. Even worse, the peephole in the door was stuffed with toilet paper, rendering it useless.
The breakfast area was filthy. The free breakfast area and the cereal dispenser were visibly dirty, and it was obvious they hadn’t been cleaned in days. Adding to the unprofessionalism, one of the cleaning staff was Facetiming someone with his phone propped up on the counter while halfheartedly wiping down the front desk.
The fire alarms went off twice during the night—once at 2:00 a.m. and again at 2:30 a.m.—waking us up both times. No explanation, apology, or discount was provided, and multiple inconsistent stories were given. One staff member told my husband the alarms were pulled intentionally, while another claimed it was scheduled maintenance. On top of all this, the hotel’s security features are nonfunctional. Parking lot cameras don’t work, and the key scanners on the rear and side doors are broken, with exposed wires hanging out of the locks, leaving the building accessible to anyone at any time.
When I brought all these issues to the manager, I was offered a refund for one of the two nights of my stay and told I could leave and find another hotel on Thanksgiving Day. The manager insisted I had been offered a room change and housekeeping services, but I was only offered the latter—which was inadequate given the original state of the room. I had already spent time and money going through their sheets to find ones that weren’t stained or ripped. The manager promised to investigate further and call me back, but I am still waiting for that call.
This experience was appalling, and the lack of accountability from management was unacceptable. At minimum, I deserve a full refund for my stay considering the filthy conditions, the disrupted sleep due to the fire alarms, and the unsafe and unsanitary environment. If you’re considering staying here, save yourself the trouble—this hotel is no longer worth it.

Not what I expected

This place needs help. Loud people above and beside. Frig not very cold. The water pressure was low. Thermostat was hot or cold, nothing in between. All 4 pillows on the bed were different sizes. One was only about 10 by 10. But the straw that broke the camel's back was...
I found a used nasal strip in my bed in the morning. AFTER SLEEPING WITH IT.
So the sheets never got changed from the last guest. Ya'll need help. The place could be nice. Work harder.

Key card did not work. Took way too long to reprogram. Breakfast was not replenished enough to make it through the entire designated time. Since I checked in late at night I asked about it to ensure that there would be items available.

Well let’s start by saying it wasn’t the worst place we’ve stayed but definitely wasn’t the best place by a long shot. It’s way overpriced for what you get. Looks like they’ve tried to do some updating in the rooms. Our remote to the TVs didn’t work, hand prints on the headboard, the door from the outside wasn’t locked so anyone could get inside without going through the lobby and the common areas were dirty. It works in a pinch I guess but that’s about it.
