Wonderful stay at The Dancing Bear Lodge in Island Park Idaho

We spent 5 days at The Dancing Bear Lodge in Island Park Idaho, What a beautiful Cabin overlooking Island Park Reservoir. It was complete with everything needed from linens, towels, and all kitchen needs. It was immaculate, spacious and has a wrap around porch with outdoor propane grill and log furniture. There was five bedrooms, 3 baths and a loft with single bed. The main floor has a large living and kitchen-dining area plus an upstairs room-loft with sofa and TV, TV's in every bedroom as well. It was quiet in a gated community among other very nice homes. The value was excellent for the size of the Cabin For a group or large family.

Great stay. Twin Creeks #2 was well appointed and well maintained. Very hot and humid during our stay, but the wall AC was able to keep up. May be worth changing the porch lights to focus a cone of light on the ground to reduce the light pollution, but nothing bad to say about the visit. Dinner at the Appalachian Bistro was great, breakfast at Apple Valley Cafe was solid, set up well for hiking in the Smokies.

Beautiful Wedding Celebration

If I could give Dancing Bear Lodge more than five stars, I would.
My son and his partner were married there on May 2, 2026, and the entire experience was nothing short of magical. From the moment our friends and family arrived, they were surrounded by the beauty of the Smoky Mountains, the peaceful atmosphere, and the warm hospitality that makes Dancing Bear Lodge so special.
The grounds are absolutely picturesque and provided the perfect backdrop for every part of the celebration—from the welcome gathering to the ceremony and reception. Everywhere you looked felt like a postcard. The staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure every detail was perfect. They handled everything with such grace that our family was able to relax and simply enjoy the weekend.
Our guests are still talking about the food, the accommodations, and the incredible setting. The lodge created an atmosphere that felt elegant, intimate, and uniquely East Tennessee all at the same time.
As a mother, watching your child marry the love of his life is one of life’s greatest moments. Dancing Bear Lodge provided the perfect setting for those memories and helped create a weekend our family will cherish forever.
Thank you for giving our son and partner such a beautiful place to begin their married life together. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect venue.

Ask details for your specific cabin before you book

I think it depends what accommodation you get. If you are in the villas beware that in the #2s the bedroom has no privacy from the main road so you have to have the blinds closed all the time which is a disappointment. Also from the balcony you can can hear the loud noise of your neighbor's air-condition unit.
Also beware that the internet is spotty. I called them in advance to ask if the internet was good since I had work to do and they said it was good. But it has been very spotty

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that cabin layout, privacy preferences, and reliable internet access can be important parts of a stay, especially when work is involved.
We do our best to provide clear information before booking through the photos, written accommodation descriptions, video walk-through tours, and online property map available on our website. These resources accurately represent the layout and placement of each cabin, including the villa referenced here, as well as the private resort roads throughout the property. Our team is always happy to answer additional questions or clarify details before arrival.
To clarify, the “main road” mentioned is a private road within our resort, used primarily by staff and other guests. We are also always happy to make accommodation adjustments when availability allows, though unfortunately, during a sold-out Memorial Day weekend, moving cabins was not an option.
Regarding the Wi-Fi, each cabin has its own dedicated network, and the network name and password are provided in multiple guest documents as well as the in-cabin guest book. After receiving this feedback while the guest was still on property, our team checked the connection and did not find an issue with the cabin’s Wi-Fi. It is certainly possible there was confusion over which network to use, and we would have been happy to assist directly had we known there was an ongoing issue during the stay.
We appreciate the feedback and encourage guests with specific privacy, layout, or work-related needs to reach out before booking so we can help guide them toward the best accommodation for their stay
