Perfect hotel for Worcester college trip!

Stayed there when visiting colleges in the area. It's conveniently located within walking distance of WPI. Jen (Jennifer) checked me in after a long travel day. She was welcoming, friendly, and found the perfect room for me! The room was clean and comfortable and had a balcony if I wanted to get fresh air. I'd come back if in the area.

Rude overwhelmed staff

The pool heater was broken, we had to use the other hotel’s pool. The AC in the room was hard to control and didn’t really work well. The elevators would stop at every floor didn’t even matter time of day or if someone was at that floor. Elevator inspection was expired by several months. The fire pit did not work. When asked why by staff they noted it was not in season yet. Hotel staff at times were rude and could be heard talking about other guests. Hotel staff only seemed to care about their liquor licenses and would tell guest's they couldn’t drink the lobby and would threaten to kick people out.However the lobby had over 100 people in the lobby all were drinking and only 3-6 people were buying drinks at the bar. Hotel appeared to partner with a baseball tournament but were overwhelmed to handle what they agreed to.

previously great ... last visit, not so much

As the title says, I enjoyed staying at this property for work travel; however, my last stay was not great. The boiler broke down one night, and I called the front desk in the morning to ask about the situation. Somehow, a very specific detail from that conversation made its way to the Marriott subreddit. In the grand scheme of things, the cold shower was a minor inconvenience. The Marriott employee using a customer's information in a public online forum is not a minor inconvenience. I received a generic response from Alex, Courtyard Guy, and Marriott seemed to care at first, but that hasn't materialized. The conventional wisdom is that Marriott either condones or outright supports this practice. Need to find a new hotel in Worcester ...

Mixed experience in Worcester

Disappointed. We stayed during a family wedding weekend. The hotel kindly allowed us to check in an hour and a half early, which was nice, because we had the bride's wedding dress, and we had only a few minutes to to get to the rehearsal. However, there was no one at reception for over 15 minutes, there was a just a sign saying "will be back shortly"... Many guest waiting! A kind gentleman let me skip in front of him, since we were in a hurry. I have never, ever experienced that before (june 13th at 1:20pm)... Our room was not very clean, desk surface a little sticky and the chrome of the back of the desk chair had so many fingerprints and other layers of uncleanliness that it was cringe-worthy. Room 326. Conference room, which we visited for various wedding prep events and a post wedding breakfast was very nice, and had lovely patio.

clean

for the most part clean and quiet. restaurant downstairs serves dinner and then a grab and go breakfast. get the mediterranean bowl. usually several folks hanging at the bar in the evening. nothing of big interest super nearby. few miles from Umass.
