For one night it's fine

The room was clean and scented. The place is in an excellent spot, has seats and tables to sit comfortably outside the room. The service was good. Unfortunately breakfast was a horror, nothing like this had ever happened to me. Very bad everything they offered. It's a shame that part was a disappointment. Rather, according to the price.

A Dire Experience – Stuck in the Middle Ages

My stay was a total disaster. The customer service is abysmal; the staff have no empathy for their customers, they treated us with total indifference and coldness to our needs.
The setting seems from the Middle Ages: everything is old, dark and lacks comfort. To top it off, there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, something unacceptable in the middle of 2026. If you're looking for humane treatment and modern amenities, look elsewhere. This establishment is anchored in the past.”

Never visit Hotel Colonial Rivera again

The hotel Colonial Rivera is really terrible, rooms small and dirty, no toilet paper, you always had to pick it up at the reception !!! The breakfast was with old bread, no cheese, no butter, just one type of mermelada, the coffee could not be drunk at all , it was like dirty water. The hotel is not cheap , it is really still recommended.

A nice, cosy, cheap stay

Piriapolis is a stunning part of Uruguay, and the Colonial Hotel certainly got the memo.
A large, resort style hotel, my room was spacious with its own private bathroom. Sleep quality was good, service was always prompt and efficient, the property has an in-ground pool. Can't comment on breakfast as, unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to enjoy it.

Desilusionada y estafada.

Apenas llegue me di cuenta que las fotos de Internet no coincidían con lo que esta viendo. La habitación muy modesta, con una lámpara rota, las mesas de luz rotas y sin tiradores. El baño se inundaba porque no tenía desagüe, y perdía agua constante. Pedí sábanas para mi hijo bebé, y me las trajeron sucias. Reclame y me prometieron cambio de habitación, a lo cual por mala comunicación no me lo hicieron. La última noche me cambiaron a la parte nueva del hotel. Realmente una gran diferencia. Yo no pienso ir mas. Pero si algunos desea arriesgar. Como lo hice yo luego de ver la gran cantidad de comentarios negativos. Cúando hagan la reserva pidan ir a las habitaciones nuevas del hotel.
