Gran Hotel Uruguay-pleasant and good value

I spent three nights at this hotel in May of this year-2023.The location was perfect-in the centre of town and close to attractions and restaurants.The room I was given was large,clean and serviced daily...I want to pay tribute to the staff who were friendly and helpful-Shanina,Flavellina and Lilliana....Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was plentiful and well presented...I am happy to recommend this place and gladly give it 10 out of 10.

Basic hotel, ok for a night

We paid US$15 too much for this hotel because it was over Christmas. The room was tiny and shabby but functional. The location is good and breakfast ok. If you can get a room cheaply, think about staying, as Salto hotels are expensive relative to the region. Staff are friendly.

Yes, it has beds and bathrooms...

Comparisons are always bad. If you need a simple hotel, where to sleep and take a shower this hotel will do good. Be prepared for doors that do not avoid noise outside, air conditioning that you cannot set the temperature right and simple breakfast. On the positive, this is one block away the main street "Calle Uruguay" and has available parking.
We spent two nights and for the money we are fine.

Good value: a bit worn down but good location & very friendly staff

Location is good, everything is walkable. From the bus station about a 20 min walk, so thats o.k. too. The building has surely seen better times - paint is missing, installations are old. But: matraces were good, ac worked - and the staff is super friendly. Also, a free ticket to the parque aquatic is included. For the price paid: very good value. I would sure recommend to stay here.

Ok for Salto but not great

Centrally located but generally poor hotel at relatively high price.
Stayed one night on our travel through Salto. If I wasn't sick and already had a massive bus journey behind me and another ahead, we would have not stayed…
Small room. Very poor to no wifi reception in room.
Concierge was quite helpful but slow…
Try to stay as close to reception as possible if you like a chance to have internet in your room.
Also our room had barely any natural light. Bathroom had none at all.
