This hotel is walking distance from the Sha-i-Zinda Complex. Size of my room was perfect for solo traveler.

We had a lovely stay at this small, clean hotel in a fantastic location. It’s within easy walking distance of Shah-i-Zinda and other tourist attractions, which made getting around very convenient. The Wi-Fi was also reliable throughout our stay.
What really stood out was the warm hospitality from Nargiza and Zafar. They speak good English and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
Breakfast was decent, but what truly impressed us was their thoughtfulness. We had to leave early for a day trip to Tajikistan, and they kindly prepared breakfast for us an hour ahead of schedule and even arranged for staff to come in early. Such a kind and memorable gesture.
We would definitely stay here again—great hosts, great location, and a stay that felt personal and welcoming. A little gem near Shah-i-Zinda!

Hotel Old City Samarkand is a really nice option for solo travelers, offering a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. The only drawback is the riad-style layout where windows face an interior courtyard, which unfortunately results in very limited natural sunlight. Aside from the dim lighting, the stay was comfortable and the hotel's overall quality made for a solid experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's a family run hotel. They made our stay very comfortable. Rooms are modern and cleaned daily. Staff was very kind and helpful with taxi reservations. English is spoken by several staff members. No elevator but our luggage was carried up and down by staff upstairs. Breakfast buffet was good and varied. They took great care to make us feel welcome. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, Registan Square and Mosque.
