Two days in Samarkand!

Location a stone's throw from the central square, nice unpretentious structure. Rooms overlooking an inner courtyard/terrace, basic, but clean!Fantastic staff!!! Advice!

A mixture of ....

...pros and cons:
PROS - great location, allowing you to see Registan (within walking distance) at different times of day. Nice environment, where you feel at home
CONS: the structure is under renovation, so breakfast is prepared and served in two rooms adapted for use. The furniture is definitely whipped.
However, if you pass over the above flaws, it is a place where you feel good

Great Location and Friendly Service – Perfect for a Samarkand Visit

We stayed at this hotel with our family of four, including two kids, and overall had a great experience. The location is unbeatable – just steps away from Registan Square, making it easy to visit all the main attractions in Samarkand without the need for long commutes.
While the rooms were a bit small, it wasn’t much of an issue since we spent most of our time exploring the city. The breakfast was satisfying, and the lady at the restaurant went out of her way to make a few extra pancakes for our kids, which was a thoughtful touch. Every night, the hotel provided us with bottled water (one per person), which was appreciated, and on our last day, they kindly packed breakfast for us to take on the road.
The only downside was the price they charged for the train station pickup, which was significantly higher than what you’d pay using Yandex. That said, everything else was excellent, and I’d highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Samarkand.

Close to the Plaza de la Régistance, but the Cospa is not a good inn

Pros:
· Close to Registan Square by 5 minutes walk.
・There are shops and restaurants nearby.
· The staff are very responsive.
Disadvantages:
- Breakfast is the minimum (many plates but poor contents), and the most modest on this trip.
・The surrounding atmosphere is bad.
- The room is very small (no chairs or desks) and dimly lit.
・There are no pots or refrigerators.
・The breakfast venue (2nd floor terrace) was hot and sunny.
・It comes with a bathtub, but it is not big enough for a normal adult to dip in.
・Cospa-wise, it is not good and I do not recommend it.

I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone

Samarkand city
Hotel Tillakori
Gallaobod Ko'chasi Maxmudjanova 22,
Location.
We visited Samarkand in January 2024, and chose a hotel closer to the historical site “Registan”. For some reason we chose this one (not the cheapest), although there were many other hotels nearby. Most likely, they were seduced by the beautiful picture on the hotel website.
To get to this hotel we had to go through a dark, unlit street in some kind of side street. Returning to the hotel in the evening was always uncomfortable.
Our stay at this hotel left us with a distinct feeling of disappointment. Entering the gate, which indicated that this was the Tillakori Hotel, we found ourselves in a courtyard littered with all sorts of household items. At the entrance, next to the sofa (apparently equipped for the guard to sleep), there was a “reception desk” with a monitor displaying information from several CCTV cameras - an absolutely incomprehensible function in such a place.
We were met by the administrator, a man of about 35-40 years of athletic build, unsociable and with an absolutely indifferent face, who had difficulty speaking with visitors, despite the fact that he spoke Russian well. Having demanded our passports, he offered to immediately pay him for the upcoming stay. Seeing that we were off the road and very tired, he never changed his decision and demanded money. After a little persuasion, he finally let us in and even helped us lift our things to the second floor to our room. Immediately after this, I paid him for the entire duration of my future stay and even beyond the amounts that were indicated when making the reservation on Booking.com
Numbers.
Let me start with the fact that the living conditions in this hotel were extremely uncomfortable; there had been no renovations here for 10 years. The door to the room did not close, the latch itself did not work, and so that it did not open on its own, it was necessary to close it with a key every time.
The room was very small, poorly equipped and very modestly furnished. The bed was so uncomfortable, hard and constantly made creaking sounds with every movement I made. It was impossible to turn over on the other side without waking up from this terrible creak. The linen was old, old, with traces of heavy use. And it was impossible to use the towels at all, since they were something between matting and sandpaper, they were old and decayed. In addition, the room was very untidy. The carpets in the room were full of dust, which reflected on my new black socks. During our entire stay at this hotel, the room was not cleaned even once, which undoubtedly negatively affected our comfort.
In the bathroom, which was completely devoid of toiletries, the old plumbing left much to be desired, the braid on the shower hose was torn (see photo), and there was old dirt in the corners.
Another unpleasant moment was the noise that came from neighboring rooms when guests checked in and out or were actively communicating with each other. Apparently the issue of sound insulation was never resolved here, and did not allow us to rest peacefully.
Nutrition.
We knew in advance that this hotel did not have a buffet, but the meagerness of the food brought to us was obvious. And I was amused by the question: why were only three cookies given to two people each time, and not two or four (we were an even number of people, but there were only three cookies). The meal was brightened up by the man (I don’t know his name) who served us food. In addition to the well-prepared food, he gave us a positive charge for the whole day with his jokes and good mood. Thanks to him for this. He was sincerely and wholeheartedly interested in our opinion in matters of living in this hotel. But, apparently, he could not change anything.
Other.
The rest of the service at the hotel also left much to be desired. The staff was unfriendly and indifferent to the needs of the guests. At no point did I feel that they would really help me here or try to make my stay comfortable. When I turned to the administrator with this or that question, he answered me, saying, “You are asking too many questions.”
Unfortunately, the hotel did not live up to its rating and advertising promises.
The overall impression of staying at the Tillakori Hotel was extremely negative. The living conditions were uncomfortable, the food left much to be desired, the service was poor, and the staff's reluctance to help and serve guests created additional inconvenience and disappointment. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone and I believe that for this price you can find much better accommodation options.
