Great Hotel in good location

Great hotel in a good area for restaurants and fabulous bar just around the corner.
Staff really helpful and friendly. Very clean and comfortable for our one night stay, perfect location if you are transferring from or to a cruise boat.

Terrible service

Had lunch at the restaurant attached to the hotel. There was no one else in the restaurant yet we had to wait 45 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did come it was cold and unpleasant. We refused to pay the hefty service charge because of the terrible service that we had received yet they would not allow us to do this. Unpleasant staff, terrible service, not very nice food and overall would not recommend coming.

Bad breakfast for European

Old fashioned hotel, not a place we liked.
Super old & very used rooms.
It was clean. And we could sleep...
As it came to breakfast we had to struggle a lot. The staff was not really able to understand our English.
We would not sleep there a second night.

Good enough for short notice accommodation

We stayed here for 1 night as part of an escorted Wendy Wu tour. This was a last minute change due to bad weather conditions in Halong Bay. The hotel is large and impressive and well located for most activities in Halong. The room was large and well appointed, but the bed was very hard and the TV was very old. The hotel has a good size outdoor pool on the roof of the 4th flor, but it's not easy to find. The lifts don't go to the 4th floor so you have to go to the 5th floor, walk down the stairs and through the spa. The biggest shortfall was the food. Our tour operator arranged for our group to have dinner in the hotel. Most of the group left before the end of the meal.
