HO CHI MINH CITY

Looking for a friendly in expensive place to stay while enjoying the city look no more. We had such wonderful experience here, the staff are very friendly and just warm. Don’t pay for 5 star hotels while visiting Ho Chi Minh City, come for the culture, foods, it’s people and only way to understand is to immersed yourself in the true meaning is one of the many small hotels around like this one. Our 10 days stay here was worth it, so much fun and the ease of this hotel situated in the art and mind of it all. I am a fan of nice 5 star brand name hotels but I am glad I stayed here because it gave me the meaning of Vietnam and it’s people.

This is not a safe hotel to stay in.

In the first room the aircon did not work. But the big problem was that the drunken Nigerian next door tried to break into my room: he tried to to turn the doorknob twice. I called the desk and told them to get up there but they did not speak much English. I told him that there was a problem and he said "OK OK OK". Come up here "OK OK OK". Is someone on the way? "OK OK OK". While I was talking to desk the Nigerian called through my door "I have a problem. Can you help me?" He was not visible through the peep-hole. I saw someone arrive and he and the Nigerian seemed to get on the elevator (No clear view of the elevator). I waited and then went down stairs and they told me that he had gone but it was impossible to tell if they had evicted him or if he was just out wandering. I made them give me a new room and they put me in the only room on the 9th floor. No elevator to the 9th floor. The TV didn't work in that room.
On my way to the desk the elevator stopped on a lower floor and a disheveled woman got on with a suitcase. Checking out at 11PM?
The next morning I complained to the clerk that spoke better English and she said that the Nigerian had just forgotten which room he was in. This was blatantly false: I was at the end room of the hallway and he was on a side room. The owner did not want to hear my complaint and the staff said that he did not speak English anyway. They were no help whatsoever.
I have traveled quite a bit and this is the worst experience I have ever had.
