Great room, unfortunately without proper soundproofing to the neighboring room

My room (019) was on the upper floor of the "new building", which is a bit off the other buildings.
A super great bath. When showering, you get the impression through the large window that you shower in nature.
At breakfast, I got a soup prepared especially for me at my wish not to have glutamate in the pho. Great!
The missing 5th point in my review is due to the fact that obviously no sound insulation measures were taken to the neighboring room during construction. Could have had a casual chat with the French couple on the other side of the wall. I've heard EVERYTHING from them.
The 2 nights was good, the hotel I would book again.

Calm and Chill Stay

I liked the Ba Be Resort hotel. We stayed in the Eco Lodge on the upstairs which is a bungalow about 150 yards from the hotel and restaurant. The upstairs rooms are lovely with very modern bathrooms overlooking the forest at the back with a picture window above the bath. The shower leaks through a bit as in lots of hotels in Vietnam.
The Aircon struggled to cool at first but got cold a the room and view is really lovely. A great place to explore Ba Be and its caves, temples and lake from.
We had to order supper ahead and set a time and also give a time for Breakfast which we gave as a half-hour window. Probably because we were one of only 2 or 3 couples there it being August.
We had delicious food - duck, mushroom vegetables, steamed rice, fried fishes and grilled chicken (over the the two nights). Breakfasts were a very good Pho and we had good fruit. The Dining room has a big TV at one end, is very brightly lit an plays scenes of Vietnam with sound piped music. Not one's first choice but when in Vietnam then just get on with it.
I liked Ba Be - copious amounts of smiling from them and us and use of Google Translate did all that we needed and we had our laundry.
All in all a calm and tranquil stay with helpful smiley staff who were lovely to us.

Great local hotel

I loved my 2 nights in this hotel. Located near the lake, it's a perfect base to explore the area. Check in was very smooth and the room just a short walk down the corridor. It wasn't immediately obvious that the hot water needed turning on once I got to the room, but once this issue had been fixed, it was great to get a hot shower. The main room area was spacious enough to spread out and the balcony looked out over the quiet road. The hotel is spread across a few buildings, which isn't a problem, the bar area has a pool table and plenty of seating and the restaurant is nice enough, offering good food. Certainly not a luxury hotel, but great for a couple of nights in this stunning part of Vietnam.

Ba Be Stay

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting the lake. We stayed in the eco lodges which were wonderful. Lovely from, nice bathroom and lovely balcony. The other rooms looked a little forgotten about. There were ver few guests - sometimes just us steals so it felt rather odd. Staff were amazing and really friendly.
