nice place to stay

My friend in Hanoi recommended this hotel for me and I found that it was really nice home in cold Sa Pa. I meet Mrs. Lan, the owner at the bus station and follow her to get the hotel, just 5 minutes walking on foot. She is very kind, honest and helpful. They have a wash-basin at the lobby, and burn a special kind of wood to make air warm and fragrant. It has no lift but that's fine, I can climb up to keep warm a bit. The room is small, very clean and enough everything that I need. In conclusion, I feel in love with this hotel thanks to good price and quality.

so disappointed

Despite that it is near the centre of Sapa, I was dissapointed about Hoang Lan hotel. I woke up at 1am because of the mosquitos and cockroaches. It was disgusting. There is no professional staff here. The owner and her mother are not hospitality and professional at all. One time we came back the hotel after a tired trekking day, we asked her for our room's key and to turn on the hot shower for us, but she kept talking on the phone with her friends.
The bed was not very clean and I got ichy.
I will never recommend anybody to stay at this hotel.

Last place on my list !

A friend suggested us to come here for a cozy place with very appropriate price, and we saw neither coziness nor suitable price ! For detailed explanation:
1. Terrible water. There was no drinking water at all, so we had to buy some water bottles downstairs and they were more expensive than those at the normal stores nearby. For the shower, I hope you get ready for sudden cold water when you are enjoying the warm flow ! I didn't dare to wash my hair here...
2. "Amazing" room (see my sarcasm ?). Yes we had expected a few mosquitoes, but we were definitely taken aback by MANY MOSQUITOES and COCKROACHES. Seriously ? I couldn't sleep at all !
Oh and the wifi ? That's for decoration.
3. "Great" staffs (again, note the sarcasm). They are the opposite of friendly and enthusiastic
