Nice old hotel but needs patience. Door of room constant problem to open.
On the plus side:
Great setting.
The room is comfortable,
The beers are cold
The meals are quite good
Breakfast excellent
WiFi quite fast
Staff are friendly
Free parking, very spacious.
On the minus side:
First 3 days, a daily battle to open my room door and needed to recode room key. On 3rd day the door simply wouldn’t open. 2 trips back to reception, they gave me a mechanical key. No apologies from Reception but a Manager sought me out to apologise.
My colleague also had the same issues with his room.
Broken toilet seat.
Swimming pool was murky and slimy. Avoid.
Lunch, dinner, always take 45 minutes to come.
Everything seems old and has seen better days.

Lovely Staff and very good breakfast
From the time we arrived till the time we left, everything was faultless.
At the reception both Tambulani and Gina were really warm and very friendly.
I felt I could talk to them forever.
The room was very spacious and clean.
The breakfast is very good with a wide choice topped off by excellent service from Mr Webb.
We can't wait to return.

This is the second time staying at Protea in chingola. Food and hospitality great. Friendly staff.
