Hotel Golden: A hidden gem in the middle of Rome
Hotel Golden is a cozy hotel managed directly by its owner Giuseppe Loria, his sister, son, and nephews, who are very polite, kind, and helpful. Located near osterias and trattorias that serve authentic Roman cuisine, and steps away from the Borghese Gallery and park, minutes from the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and other main attractions, its location is very convenient. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and decorated in an elegant classic style. Our room in particular had a beautiful and elegant view of the statue of General Belisarius, a famous and legendary military commander of the Byzantine Empire located on the Aurelian Walls right next to the hotel. Because of its location, excellent service, and value for money, the Hotel Golden is undoubtedly a hidden gem in the middle of Rome.

Central Family hotel
We stayed at Hotel Golden at the end of July and had a wonderful experience. We arrived late in the evening to a lovely, cool, spacious room, which was very welcome after travelling.
The hotel was quiet, spotlessly clean, and in a fantastic central location. We felt completely safe walking around the area, and many of Rome’s main sights were within easy walking distance, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. There are also plenty of lovely restaurants just a short walk from the hotel, serving fantastic food at very reasonable prices, so finding somewhere to eat was never a problem.
Being a family-run hotel really made a difference. Everyone was friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. Our room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels and bedding changed daily, which was a lovely touch.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and well-located hotel in Rome, with great restaurants on your doorstep and easy access to the city’s attractions, I would definitely recommend Hotel Golden. We would happily stay here again.

Positives: great location - next to Villa Borghese, the cleaner was great - our room would be immaculate every day with fresh towels
Negatives: there was a curfew where you cannot leave the hotel after 12am, we found this very strange as we couldn’t even leave for a smoke or to collect food. The reception desk would keep our room key and there was no way in to the building after 12am except for calling someone’s phone number - if both of our phones had died I don’t know how we’d get back in to our room.
The bathroom was not up to standards - our toilet seat had a crack in it and the shower must have been clogged as it filled with water rapidly.
Overall, I personally would not stay again or recommend this hotel as I found the lack of freedom very strange. However, if this doesn’t bother you then it’s in a good location and it’s okay for the price.

This was a great location and the property was very well maintained. You were required to leave your key at the front desk when you went out and had to be buzzed in when you returned. We felt very safe.

Fabulous location in lovely area with great restaurants around and good walking distance to tourist sites. The staff were helpful and assisted. The rooms were large just a little tired. Good hotel for location /area
